hehe
I’m not that muscle bound.;)More like faulty cracked soft metal. I have the part out and the metal cracked and broke off like hard cheese. I hope I can get a replacement. I’ve had issues with this WH stick. My board also died after a couple of months. Must have been made on a Friday afternoon.

Bad news. Thrustmaster won’t sell me the cheap white metal part that snapped. The stick broke right off at the base and I have to buy a whole new one……out of warranty. Nice.
Beware for those who use FSSB and Warthog stick.
I have been much more aggressive with my Cougar stick for 8 years and no problem yet.
It didn’t take much pressure at all to break it off. The part must have been a faulty, but its going to cost me $300 for a new stick because of a faulty $3 part. -
Might be worth checking on viperpits if anyone has made a replacement for that part. If it’s the base of the shaft I know there are drop-in angled replacements designed to fit in F-16 cockpits; maybe someone there can suggest something before you shell out your winnings to Thrustmaster.

That may be repairable depending on how must clearance there is on the stick. Failing that you may be able to machine a replacement. Either way you need to find a local engineering workshop and ask. The worst they can say is NO and if it costs less than a new stick it’ll be worth it.
This is a link to the adaptor piece the Darkman was suggesting. Only for the Cougar so I don’t know if it will work with a Hog stick but again worth asking.

Thanks. That is what I need, but I think they only sell batches of 10 and they are $150 each. I will look around for a single for sale.

Is this spare from a Cougar? If so please let us know if it fits the Hog stick for future reference.
Thanks

I know this angled one also fits the Warthog stick - I have one for my pit build. Might want to check one out - made of bronze, stronger, and sets the correct/RL geometry for the grip.
Check the “Tailpiece Adapter” under “Accessories”.

I find it odd that TM Support won’t sell a replacement stick base connector for the WartHog which is currently sold and supported for other parts. Did they give a reason?
This is the second time I’ve heard of Warthog with FSSB3 resulting in a sheared base. It could be a combination of flawed casting, metal fatigue and the stick may have not been designed for a static base with force sensor mods.

I don’t see why the WH has this problem since the part is the exact same part for the Cougar. My Cougar has had FSSB for 8 years with no issues. One month with FSSB WH and snap. It must be a faulty casting run.
Here is their reply to me.
"Regarding your HOTAS Warthog Flight Stick.
We thank you for your reply.
The parts that you are inquiring about are not available as a spare part and consequently we cannot assist you with the acquisition of them.
We thank you for your understanding and we rest at your disposal for any other inquiries." -
I am now using Warthog stick on a cougar base and i can report that all buttons and hat switches are working.

CMS down is not working on a cougar base if you are using the PCB from the cougar.
Not possible, period -

Not possible, periodCMS down works fine. Its depress CMS that does not work. Just to clarify.;)
I think Archer might mean all his Cougar buttons and hats work as advertised on the Warthog stick.
