LOD editor for installing Hayab's models
-
I’m having some trouble to get the S-60 replaced with LOD editor from Hayab his ‘Pack 1 (Kraz 255F, Kraz 255 T, S-60, ZPU2)’.
I guess I only need to find the original LOD’s and replace them by the new ones right?
And I managed that for the Kraz vehicles both ‘Normal’ and ‘Destroyed’.But for the S-60 the original only has one LOD, while the replacement has more LOD’s in place.
How does that work? Do I just need to change the number of LOD’s in the ‘Parents’ screen
and load up the new LOD’s? But what do I fill in for ‘LOD #’ and ‘Distance’.Could anyone help me to get back on track?

In case is something wrong in your DB you already have messed up something. This is what you should see.

Apparently the screen you show is when you hit ‘Normal’ after selecting the S-60
When I hit ‘Destroyed’ I only see 1 LOD…
The reason why I click ‘Destroyed’ is because I assume I had to do so.
I found this on youtube:
But I don’t see any instructions included if I downloaded the zipped file. -

Hmmm, strange…
After I’ve changed the models for the Kraz T and F vehicles I only see one object for the ‘Destroyed’ S-60…
And also, where did you find the information on how to set the Distance in the LOD Indexes?
Or were these already set correctly and you only needed to replace the LOD’s? In that case I screwed up my database or something
by modifying the Kraz T and F vehicles. -

So I see… I sent a PM to Hayab. Maybe he can clarify on this.
But my question is also in general. Where do I find the instructions on how to install all these mods?
Or should the installation instruction always be included with each mod? Some mods I figured it out myself, others include great explanation. And some make it almost impossible without any prior knowledge.

Dunno, I can’t find any instruction on my HHD.

You can start with this tutorial to get some beginning tips:
Then get this .pdf file by JanHas and read it also: http://www.mediafire.com/view/e93ccav23ez333i/Model_Install_with_LE623.pdf
That should get you a little more familiar with working with LodEditor.

He knows how too add. The problem is the lack of info. The S-60 destroyed contains only one level of LOD. Hayab added 4. My guess the only thing what has to be change the number of LOD value in parent and I showed how looks mine.

Regardless, the tuts show how to do that. You only posted a pic, you didn’t explain how to get the result of the LOD Distances.
At any rate, he needs to brush up on the use of LE!!

Thanks Cloud 9!
I already found the JanHas one and those models I can perfectly implement in the database with the instructions that you showed.
But the Hayab Packages (at least the first one I tried) doesn’t have any installation explanation. -
I know how to replace the LOD’s but is Cloud 9 said: I don’t know which distances I need to set for the extra LOD’s.
I did indeed found out how to set the #LOD, but all distances say then 0. -
Just enter distances and update.
(Many times for old models I found useful change LOD distances because with old modelds todays HW can deal quite well on higher distances.)

It’s not working properly… the LOD number all states 0. The distance you can set, but LOD number I don’t know how to do it correctly…
-
What version of LodEditor are you using??

I’m using the latest version which I found on JanHas site

After you set upper part of parent (DOF, number of LOD) press update and you will get as many LOD levels what you set.

That’s true, but their LOD # and distance state 0…
And so does the Parent say 0 and this can’t be changed. -

The point is changing these values…
