TomsKorea2015-Reloaded

Great looking effort Tom Catz.
-
You have pushed the limits of the current terrain engine to unthinkable levels (also Mr. Labrada did with POH theatre). Lots of creativity, skills and dedication.
Thank you for making Falcon quite a bit better -

Tom,
Hi! Thanks for your Korea map update. I have some requests for your new Korea skin.
I found out some error on your former Korea skin. Korea 2015 final version.
I found out incorrect map near Kimpo Airport. I caputered nort east Seoul, near Kimpo Airport.
Would you take a look at blue circled area on attachment? The Han River is connected with Imjin River.
Over Imjin River is North Korea. But Han River is disconnected on your previous 2015 Korea map.
Is that possible to connect them on your new Korea skin?
Is that possible to add a city like the one on yellow circle one? The area is full of mountains and tress on your Korea2015 final skin.
Google Earth will give you more detailed idea what itās like.
Thanks in advance. -
Hi,
yes- thats possible. I used the stock Korea coasts and didnt changed any coastline. But I could make an update- I should because there is a small Problem with Seosan and an Airstrip.
However- To use GoogleEarth for a map is a bit critical. The original Map is over 14 years old but Google is showing the present Status. So for examble- If you take a small look over Wonsan Airbase you will seeā¦.
Pyƶnyang Airfield is still under construction. Osan Airbase is having a second runway now and Kunsan is betted into a large ship Yard. The keypoint is- The original Korea is changing rapidly and itās hard to follow every new Highway, coastline, Airfield and so on. But- some Special things I can do- just like that.
Cheers

Tom, tried your reloaded beta last night, looks great! I had been getting jealous of DCS, seeing all the lovely terrain, but these new tiles provide a nice face lift to our old friend, many thanks for providing these

Is there a frame rate loss associated with this mod? My system isnāt quite the most stout. I tend to get 49-50 FPS on the ground and about 60 in the air.

Hey there Tomcatz, are you planning to work more on these āreloadedā tiles?
Iāve been flying for a while with them and I can give you some feedback for future improvements. -
we appreciate your hard work
-
Does it work with 4.33?
-
Did you check 4.33ās default by Polak? It is superbly crafted to align with forest sections.
And TBH it looks way better than anything I ever saw in Falcon since ca. 2003ā¦;)
No disrespect, I also love TomCatzās terrain. -
Tomās work is really amazing, but IMHO still need some work.
The main problem for me is lacking of variety. The green plains, city tiles and mountains look superb, but we are missing some other terrain type, like farms, mud, swamps, different type of mauntains, etc. Maybe Tomkatz can use some tiles of his previous versions and combine them.
The night tiles are way, too bright and ruin the immersion. The water also looks a bit weird.
Hope he has time to finish his work, these tiles have a lot of potential.
