DTE Isues
-
This has been a problem since I started playing the game in 4.32 and I figured it would be fixed for me in 4.33, but its not. When I load the data cartridge I set it doesn’t remember certain things. It WILL remember steer points and countermeasures . However, I always haft to set the tower manually(it never sets it after I load the DTE) and it wont remember steer-points when i set them to targets so i cant use GPS bombs easy ( i haft to write down the coordinates and plug them in manually in flight. any solutions ?

How are you currently setting your targets via steerpoints? Just want to make sure you are doing it correctly.
-
I just recon the area and set the targets i want to hits as steer points . When i got to my DTE before i take off, i see them on the target page, but not there when i am in flight. they are all just 00.00.00.

Did you select save in your DTC before jumping into the cockpit?
-
Yes, I did. Here is a short video of me setting my DTE and when I get into my cockpit No targets are saved and the tower isn’t properly set.Even after I reload DTE.( I cut out all of the loading parts)

I have never seen that before and the only thing I can even think of that would cause this situation is if your callsign.ini file in the users/config folder somehow got set to read only. This would not allow BMS to change it which could duplicate what you are seeing. Check to make sure that didn’t get set to read only somehow. If you just copied over that file from the 4.32 to the 4.33 folder you would have copied the attributes (hence the problem) as well.

Do you ramp start or jump into the taxi/runway? Do you have g_bNoDTCForRampStart set to 1 to force you to load the DTC during your ramp start?

If you had watched the video you would know that isn’t a possibility as he showed a DTC load and switch over to steerpoints to demonstrate that the precision points he programmed in weren’t there.

Yes, I did watch the video thanks. My point is does he get same behaviour from a cold & dark start then from a hot start (even if he is re-loading in the DTC from a hot pit).

Could also be an issue with “corrupted” callsign.ini, I heard about other users having weird behaviours due to this… try resetting the relevant parts with WDP and see if the issue persists.
-
Yes, it still does.
-
I will try that and get back to you
-
That’s seems very possible , I will look at it when I get home
-
Thank you! it was set as read only! If only i had come sooner !
-
Thank you for confirming that was the cause.
