Speedbrake beep indicator

Well, after I made a makeshift ICP and MISC panel, I found that a HOTAS plus those panels covers 95 % of my switchology. Anyway, nothing stopping you from programming the cougar throttle is there?

Damned if I know, would need to run the CCP and also install Foxy again. That’s a whole lot of usb/DX stuff for poor old windoze to handle.
-
Well, I still recommend using DX. If you buy a PoKeys56U and some switches, you can make a MISC panel pretty easily. Add a numpad, and another panel below it to attach a 4 way switch and a 2 way rocker switch and you have a basic ICP as well. I made my ICP mounting out of a cardboard box I cut up and taped together. Its a temporary solution that has lasted years so far…

For all of my searching, I can’t find x65 or Cougars for sell. I can find the x55, but I can’t find any good reviews on it that sell me about it. Then there’s the whopping Thrustmaster Warthog, it’s hard for me to justify that kinda cash for something I do on spare time.
As far as the x55 and x65 go…isn’t the x65 newer? I thought the model numbers went in order (x52, x55…) But I can’t really find anything on the x65, other than it’s “not available”. Anyone?

Force sensing stick from Saitek. Was out well before the x55.

X-55 is newer than the X-65. You can do a search on this forum concerning the X-55 and make a determination if it is for you.

Its not the best shot, but you can see the ICP in it.
And this shows the panels I made. Note these are second prototypes. The originals I made were made from electrical breadboard and then wedged under the screws on the X65 throttle box.
I don’t have any pictures of the original prototypes it seems. These were meant to be temporary as well, but when on low income, it gets easy to decide not to fix what isn’t broken.

Looks like Mission Control, brother.

X-55 is the successor of x/36-x/45-x/52 branche. x/65 is no longer for sale. About the X-55 I can tell you that it is a stick far from perfection but it will do the job and it will give you most bang for the buck.
If you feel the need of COUGAR quality then look nofurther. Quality sticks do have problems of there own though and are more costly to solve imho.
Known issues x/55 are:
Sucking profiler software (BSOD), for BMS not a real issue as you can do most in DX.
Slider & minjoystick are non DX. So for a few functions I used the profiler once it’s setup it gives no worries.
Plastic feel, some switches sit kind of loose.
Tension of the throttle, it is adjustable though it needs some period before it gets smooth.
Key Spiking problems caused by powershortage USB. POwered USb is preferable. I do not have encountered this problem.
I find mini joystick inoperable.pros are:
adjustable spring for stick tension
throttle: lots of switches and 4additional axis beside the dual throttle.
Twist rudder, for F-16 good enough, saves you another few bucks. So I’m happy with X/55 and coming from x/45 it is a big improvement.
-
If the X-55 uses the same electronic layout it may be possible to make the ministick axes work through directX. I suspect that like the X-65F this would come at the cost of another axis, such as the rudder.

I was fortunate enough to meet a guy who although had a tragic accident and was left paralyzed from the waist and down, is larger than life and puts us “able” to shame.
He has been close and allowed into and F-16. Yeah he was helped in by a lift.
You won’t get any pity from me.Yeah Ill give you a break. Use any mod you wish.
Leech I appreciate that BMS continues Falcon4’s vision to be the King of Flight Sims (PC PowerPlay 1989) and they at all times endeavor to integrate reliable Real World Data & Procedures into their vision of the Falcon Legacy.
That’s why many of us are still here attempting to fly Falcon.
However I cringe when I see comments, remarks & attitudes that appear elitist, clique and/or seam to be diminutive towards those who for one reason or another are unwilling or unable to maintain or achieve the high standard held by the protagonist.
Personal I use very few mods currently only a “small sun” mod. However in the past I have enjoyed one of the tracer mods and for a short time used a “speed-break” mod.
So I thank you for your permission to continue to be free in this regard.Regarding “You won’t get any pity from me” I never expected or asked for it.
Actually if you mean by pity “the feeling of sorrow and compassion caused by the sufferings and misfortunes of others.” Its a shame your not capable of such feelings.Kind regards……Shadow

And here we go…
Fair enough then. You lads can use any mod you want.
Just don’t ask or wish for future updates to include them for you.
-
Gee Leech, I didn’t get the memo that I needed your permission to use a mod.
-
If you look at the original post of this thread, I didn’t “ask or wish” (nor would I) for future updates to include them. You just came up with that out of thin air, I guess.
I’m not surprised, of course, that someone would not be able to resist the arrogant editorializing of this subject. You get the troll prize. Now if you don’t mind, I’ll just be beep-beep-beeping along…
