Arty Particle System Modifications…

They need to use the Large Hadron Collider to prove if your rod actually exist to begin with and then if it does it will just be pure theory if it can grow, but it would be a interesting discussion to follow, I’ll give you that
-
lol guys u r super… I just got a new leaver from laughs…
Well let’s start if the Hadron Collider really exists second if it’s functional and gives certified results then Large??? How large? what defines Large???
Jokes aside probably the flare body bursts the flame in vertical axis both ways. The flame is the result of the fired essence that burns and surely some part is spilled outside the flare canister (?) (sorry don’t know the exact terminology…)
Also probably the flare canister - body must burn down to ashes…
So it goes like:
Here the second stage and a representation how the flare body must be and how the flame goes out:
And Last some zoom in and outline of the flame those curves looks like the scenario I say:
-
Question is, is it worth the effort? You would most likely not see these details in a campaign and the fps might have a lower number due to a lot of emitting particles.
Cool pictures though, I had a different shape of the body in my mind. -
Well sure the effort and not seeing them u r fully correct… about the fps well as u well know this is very controllable…
Now for new effort… well the PSD’s are there and ready just some nice selections and update will not take that much of time… Also maybe a secondary effect could be used to better represent the effect… The many emitting particles can be just a few and with good handling of the params can show superb… and as stated for my mods u must have the horsepower to handle them… will be great though for screenshots and vid close ups…
Mostly it’s a let’s talk about it thing in general to pass the time… and if something good and more realistic comes out that can be done will be a win win scenario… just for the fun - fan of it…
-
the flare body bursts the flame in vertical axis both ways
Wrong, the flare is ignited and burned only on the “upper” position, inside dispenser’s far end, and not on the external red part that is viewable from outside.
-
well upper doesn’t comply in the air… so it bursts out on the vertical axis from one side only… this is why in the outline the curved area is well formed on the lower side. the burst opening must be facing down.
In the first pic the burst opening is looking upwards towards the plane and at the flare body edge is black probably from the burn…
Raptor or any one else do u happen to have a pic of the flare body cartridge?
Found this:
is this correct?

Updated the first post with new version for 4.33.
Enjoy.
-
Thanks a lot for this, Arty, I appreciated your work since you released its previous version.
Just to tell this in clear, I think you deserved some feedback, especially if it’s positive. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else: well done!Best regards,

Updated the first post with new version for 4.33.
Enjoy.
Downloaded and when applying all mods or Only Flares I get this: Failed to apply patch All Arty Particle System Mods / Flare effect Only. – File not found (D:\Games\Flight Sims\Falcon BMS\The Game\Falcon BMS 4.33\user\patches\arty\flare\flarenew.dds). I did as instructed, copied the exe to the install directory right next to Config.exe, launched then got the error when applying… BTW Heat only mod applies fine.
-
SCU316 it works ok m8. It must be on your end.
please redownload and retry.
If that doesn’t work it might be from an error of file-folder permissions to the folder?
check if the path exists D:\Games\Flight Sims\Falcon BMS\The Game\Falcon BMS 4.33\user\patches\arty\flare\and maybe it’s a path problem?
when u open the exe at the top says Executable:
in there it must say for your case only: D:\Games\Flight Sims\Falcon BMS\The Game\Falcon BMS 4.33\Launcher.exeis this the case?
if not click Browse and point to the path where Launcher.exe is located in your system.
-
I don’t have the arty folder in patches, in fact the patches folder is empty for me.
But the exe tells me exactly the path you said: D:\Games\Flight Sims\Falcon BMS\The Game\Falcon BMS 4.33\Launcher.exe (copy pasted from the exe)
I’ve just tried to redownload and reinstall and getting the same error. Should I have the arty folder by default? -

I don’t have it either lol
ohhh I’m getting old… lol
Actually I have a terrible cold I shouldn’t mess with those things… but I had time at home and thought to update it.thanx SCU316 I must create a new executable rar to include the files… or I messed something creating the patch.
Stay tuned.
-
Ah cheers then mate… so I guess other people were having this error too?
-
Same for me SCU316. I was afraid of posting about it, as i supposed it should be my fault, but i see from Arty’s post that something’s wrong with the exe. Cheers.
-
Yeap guys the exe needed a different approach which I forgot how to do.
Thankfully NSIS has a good wizard and an install package is ready.
First post updated.
Just erase the old one.
Sorry for the trouble.
-
May I ask kindly… did anyone tried this new installer if it works ok with 4.33.1?
-
Damn… you’re right. Just give me a few time ad I’ll let you know right away.
And here I am, with not-so-good news, I’ afraid: here as follows I’m posting the error message I had in return after I tried to apply he modifications.
“Failed to apply patch All Arty Particle System Mods. – File mismatch. C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\data\terrdata\particlesys.ini does not match C:\Users\Giovanni\AppData\Local\Temp\f4p8154.tmp\arty\psoriginal\particlesys.ini.orig or C:\Users\Giovanni\AppData\Local\Temp\f4p8154.tmp\arty\psalleffects\particlesys.ini.new.”
And all the same above occurred when I tried to apply only a part of them.
My system OS is Windows 10 Pro (64 bit).
Any suggestions, mate?With best regards,
-
hmmm strange…
IIRC it was taking the root dir and made changes to the rest… So it should work…
Are you sure you are on stock Korea?
I mean no changes in the particle system file?As a hack the particlesys.ini.new file if renamed and placed in correct folder will apply the mod.
As a tip try to copy paste the file particlesys.ini.orig
to
C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdataerase particlesys.ini
rename particlesys.ini.orig to particlesys.ini
Now if you run the patch it should work as advertised…
Remember no refunds after you left the store…
