HOTAS Cougar Vs Windows 10
-
Win10 x64 and Cougar user here. All is well. I don’t use T.A.R.G.E.T. I use the old Cougar software in it’s latest version, just as I did when I had Win7.
I have been using Windows 10 as an insider since a few months before it was officially released, and in my experience, anything that worked on Win7 will work on Win10 without issues. The operating systems are very similar under the hood, and compatibility is great.
Does the hardware reset for the cougar work ok?

Hi, I have been running windows 10 with the cougar since August. I use only DX input for the cougar. I have not had any issues, however having said that I have not needed to flash the cougar since win 10 (or about 2008 for that matter) so i can’t speak to that. I use all the equipement list in my sig very happily in win10

1 last bump.

Do you use this version 2007_HCO_VISTA_64RC1?
Thanks

TM HOTAS Cougar in Win 10 user here also with FOXY and CCP installed (No TARGET).
Before update from Win7x64 to Win10 my Cougar was working perfect.
After the Win10 update no more DX buttons recognition.
Same installation, same profile in my pc.I didn’t manage to solve it yet.

Really? Make sure you are using “2007_HCO_VISTA_64RC1” and run the installation with administrator rights.
Double checked and even foxy I run it with admin rights.
It needs more investigation at my end to say it for sure what the issue is.
I will keep you posted about results.
Thanks Brisse. -

Yes, I have been able to flash my unmodded Cougar with Win 10/64 using the normal procedures (unplug, then plug back in with trigger depressed for a few seconds). I have done it on at least two occasions since installing Win 10/64.

I recently installed win 10 on my Mac via bootcamp problem free. I programmed the cougar directly in BMS. I’m a novice, so there was a lot of trial and error, but I eventually got it done. I just installed 4.33 yesterday, and it runs fine.

help ! running win10, unable to open 2007_HCO_VISTA_64RC1 , indicating CPU missing STTubeDevice203.dll .
when using 3_HCO_2004 everything seems to work using Dunc’s profile in Foxy except microstick and unable to manually calibrate cougar ( option in CCP / 3_HCO_2004 not available ) .( been searching and reading BMSforum but no joy )
question : 1) should i try and resolve issues and stay with Win10 ?
2) go back to Win7
3) go back and play PacMan due to frustration ?thanks in advance and cheer !

I’m sure this has been asked before.
On 64 bit systems the DLL is installed in the wrong place and needs copying to the correct one. Off the top of my I can’t remember which directories though (currently at work). Do a search on the forums using the DLL name and you should get a result. If not hopefully a helpful soul will come by with the missing info.
