really infuriating that none of the setups work for me, i’ve tried several and they all seem to get jumbled up at some point.

Please explain what you mean by “get jumbled up”. Someone may be able to help with more information.

none of the buttons\toggles are mapped correctly.
Trigger comes out as RDR CURSOR - Cursor enable
SW2 Trim up - Nose Down
both buttons on the front of the throttle come out as Slap Switch
and so it goes for all of them.At this point i think i need to sit down this weekend and just set it all up. But its been years since i played, and i didn’t have a HOTAS then, so i don’t know the controls well enough to be comfortable with what i need and where it should go.
But if anyone has some input on cause or a solution i’d be very grateful. -

This can be found when opening the keyfile and what you see is the assignment of Button1 for device 1 and 2.
Doing some reverse engineering makes it easier to understand so here we go.
SimTriggerSecondDetent 0 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 “simtrigger2nd” “But.1” >>>unshifted device#1
SimCursorEnable 32 -1 -2 0 0x0 0 “CURS.ENABLE” “BUT.1”>>>unshifted device#2
Isn’t that what your problem is all about?
The number right after the call is your DX assignment on stick controller, swap 0 with 32. In fact that’s excaclty what you have to do with all of them. swap 0-31 with 32-62. And of course to with the shifted.I recommend to read and understand what is written in the Keyfilemanual and can be found in docs folder, do it together with my keyfile at hand (if you like it) and go from there. Simply open it with a text editor and look at the bottom section. Take in mind that windows swapped id device#1 and #2 so you have 2 possibiltys to make yours work, change the ID of controllers in windows or reprogram (in fact just renumber) the calls in the keyfile accordingly to ID order. I’m not going to for you as I am to lazy :D.
AT last but not at least, just for the record, sorry no offense : :rtfm:

I’ll do some more testing tonight. Started work late today and yesterday, had great plans for 3-4 hours uninterrupted trial and test, only to have the power company show up to do line work outside and pull my power from 0930 to 1400-ish both days.

if you take the provided keyfile from this thread, add this first line
#joysticks|Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick|Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Throttle
the little app automatically re-maps the buttons based on where your position of those two sticks are (assuming the original poster has this layout.

the switches on the throttle control the OSB buttons and not the landing gear,CAT, etc as per drawing
using X55-BMS4.33-Snelle-V2.00
thanks

It would help if you just could be a little more explainatory on the subject.
First: Perhaps you checked functionality in UI? Doing so not all functions will be visible, in SIM however they do function as advertised.
Second: Clear any active Saitek profile prior to BMS start, i.e. apart from the one in package (slider).FYI:
IF YOU SAVE THE KEYFILE IN THE BMS SETUP UI, YOU WILL LOOSE
ALL COMMENTS AND THE ORDER OF THIS FILE! SO ALWAYS KEEP A
BACKUP OF THIS FILE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!
Bottom line: do not save the keyfile in UI.

Thanks for replying.
On the throttle there is toggle switches they are mapped for some reason to control the buttons around the mfd`s and not what the diagram shows eg landing gear up etc etc.
Also how is the best way to save changes if not ingame.
I would never be able to use the key file and cchange things in that i am only smart enough to click what i want to change in the game and then press the buttton i want it mapped to lolThanks again
