Hey gRaider,
Just sended the keyfile, don’t forget to map the rotery’s in the Setup/controller/advanced/avionics tab and/or the rudder-control in the Setup/controller/advanced/fightcontrols tab or they won’t work!
Good luck:DGreetings,

Hi Terminator.
Can I get the file as well?
After a few failed attempts to learn this sim, and many years later… I have more time and want to learn. BMS looks incredible!
Thanks.

do you have any trouble with the throttle not being able to settle and do you know of any work arounds. as I’m constantly on the throttle when flying formation as the imput is lagging I think
Yep, sounds like this, in an earlier reply:
My X-45 throttle axle already broke once, but i glued a metal tube inside the axel and it’s been functioning since then. I think the potentiometers inside had there best time, throttle is sometimes a bit erratic and it’s hard to make small adjustments in the power setting. Thinking about replacing them or go for the X-55 …… Choices, life is all about choices
Good chance your X45 is as old as mine and the potentiometer used for the throttle is not functioning as it should anymore. If you’re up to it, maybe cleaning it will solve the problem or else you have to replace it. I think there are videos on You Tube that show how to clean the potentiometer. replacing is just the next step. I chose to buy a new Hotas, so i bought the thrustmaster Warthog Hotas. The Warthog throttle’s resolution is so much better than the the X45 ever was, small adjustments are no problem. So cleaning or replacing the potentiometer could help and if you can afford it, a new Hotas will definitely solve the problem :D.

Thanks for the info. I just got my falcon 4.0 the other day and was having all sorts of trouble with the Snelle key file. I’m new to this sim, but again Thanks. Titanium55

Thanks for the key file. I too own the X-45 used during the original F4 sim.

Does it have DX in the keyfile? I know somebody in need of it if it does.
-
Yes, it does most of it is DX. the part that doesn’t is the slider and the mouse fix these work great once you make the registry fix. Once I understood what was happening I finally got the profile to work. It took me two months to get it flying right. So a long story short I went out and purchased a Warthog where I don’t have to mess with the SST files that Saitek has in the X55. I found it hard to change anything the way I wanted it. I’m not sure if the X45 use the SST profiles I think they were just implemented in the X55. Anyway that’s what I have found Good luck and happy flying. Titanium55
post edit: after two months with the X55 I still can’t release a weapon.

Yep only DX, no need for Saitek software and a profile, just drivers. Setup is explained in the included readme.txt

I don’t know what you are trying to say here. As told in the readme, it is not a profile but a keyfile! No additional software or registery fixes needed.
From the readme:Just to remind you, it’s not a profile, it’s a key file.Just copy it to the Falcon BMS 4.33\User\Config directory and select and load it in BMS controller setup page.
So do not load a profile in de Saitek software, in fact i only use the X45 for BMS and i don’t even have the software installed, just the windows drivers and calibration performed. If with “slider” you refering to the mode switch, that’s indeed not implemented in the key file, like also mentioned in the readme for the most part HOTAS functions only are programmed, I tried to stay close to the real thing.

Thanks! Just getting back to the sim and was looking for a good start to my oolllllddd hotas config.

Thank you for this file! I have decided to get back into 4.0, and am just getting going on BMS and my old X45 that still works great!

When I load the file ingame pretty much nothing but the tms switch works, the rest shows up a as blank. Shifting with the pinky switch also doesn’t work
Any ideas what could be going wrong? -

Any ideas what could be going wrong? The key file was created in 2015, meanwhile BMS changed of course, but it worked in the basic 4.33. I switched to the Thrustmaster Warthog some time ago, so I can’t verify if it still works. Do you use other input devices? It could be a device sorting problem, causing different DX button numbers. The keyfile was written with only the X45 connected as DX input device. You could try to disconnect all devices, delete the devicesorting file, connect the X45 only and restart BMS. A new devicesorting file will be created. Check if the keyfile works now. Make sure the X45 stays on top in the devicesorting file if you plug in additional devices.
Looking at this recent post,
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30300
The keyfile should still work……

Ooh I didn’t think device ordering could be a problem, though I didn’t even remember my extreme 3d pro was still plugged in!
Thank you I just reordered the devices in the file and it works like a charmReally appreciate you still giving a bit of support for this ancient but awesome stick
