Flounder's X52 Pro Keyfile/DX Profile for BMS 4.33
-
Thank you Blue , quick question, will this profile work OK, with BMS 4.32, I have used it and have a couple issues which may be my install just checking!
I am flying with 4.33 but it is unstable some times, the frame rate is not real high even at 32 bit so may use older version to get up to speed until I can upgrade.
tuxHmmmm …. not 100% sure. Some callbacks changed in 4.33 … not many, but a few. It’s possible that one or more of those are included in this keyfile and they would not function correctly in BMS 4.32. That said, I think all of the HOTAS commands should be ok, it would likely be a few keyboard commands that don’t work.
Another alternative is to download my 4.32 DX Profile and use that in 4.32. HOTAS layout is very nearly identical. Keyboard layout is similar for ICP, OSB’s, etc., but contains a lot more default keys as well.

Could you to take the time to redo your Key file on your key file V 3 without the tracker, view settings as 4.33 for BMS 4.32 DX, I have been trying but have it all messed up, hate to ask you again. Need a key file editor for dummies!

I am trying to set up the Padlock as you describe, when you say paste the key file in External Views, is this in the" Keyfile Editor". I see external views in the editor, but in previous Falcon sim’s there was usually only one button to go into padlock, your code file above shows numerous padlock step lines. Wondering do I use just Padlock next and Padlock Previous .??
I am learning to use the editor and this is a little over my head as shown. I can manage to set it up in the UI once I get it in the right spot in the editor.
I am using BMS 4.33 ,
thanks Tux. -
Tux,
Try Using the excel file editor by Kolbe that comes with the 4.33 tool files. It is a lot easier to use. All you have to do is read the directions and you will end up with a .key file that is yours and yours only. This way is the one way I have found out to get to know the BMS keystrokes since I am the one mapping them. -
Will take a look at the Kolbe file. Wondering what stick you are using, with my set up there are so many buttons just thinking it will take forever to set it up, there are so many multiple combinations. I was thinking just make some changes only. If my combo had just a few buttons would be easier. I have been studying the editor and not as intimidated as in the beginning.
Pikachu, do you have a tracker set?
thanks for the feedback,

I used your suggestion and can make the changes I wanted, using BMS Full, it has the files I couldn’t find and apply in other profiles.
thanks

Sorry for the late responce tux139.
I Use TrackIR4. There is a newer version but it is more expensive. I don’t know if its better. TrackIR4 works great for me. In the begining, like everthing you have to get used to it. But once you start using it, you will realise that you can interact with the 3D pit almost without taking your hands off the HOTAS. That’s why I was recomending for you to get to know your own .key file. The better you know it the more intimate you become with all the buttons on it. You get a double set of additional buttons with the shifted option as well.

Does this work with bms 4.33.1?

Does this work with bms 4.33.1?
It should, except for the lack of Flaps for the F/A-18 which were added callbacks in 4.33.1.
I can no longer test/update this profile as I’ve moved to a Warthog stick and my current profile(s) are built around that.

Thanks for the info. I was doing some additional testing and it works for me in 4.33 but for some reason it isnt working in 4.33.1

Hmmm. It really should. None of the callbacks used have changed. Is this an issue with ‘device order’ …. where the HOTAS buttons ‘work’, but call an unexpected command?
If so, check the file: x:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\DeviceSorting.txt and make sure the device “Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller” is the first device in the list. OR … renumber the DX buttons on the HOTAS to fit with the device order.

Thanks for the help, that looks like the problem, my rudderpedals are number 1 not the saitek stick

I would like to thank Agave_Blue for his useful Flounder download suggestion which loaded well on my Satek X52Pro with no problems and I also loaded Flounder X52 Pro v5-Full Key. However cannot get my keyboard to accept binding of any more callbacks from Flounder X52 Pro v5 Full other than those already on Flounder keyboard download. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The bindings hols for as long as the game is turned on but disappear when the game is restated.

I assume you’re saving the keyfile after making changes? Check and see if the keyfile is read only.

Many thanks you for your suggestion which is much appreciated. The Flounder Full Key is a *.key file which replaced BMS Full. I think I am saving the additional call backs to the keyboard correctly by pressing APPLY after each setting. The problem may be in the SST profile I allocated to the game namely Flounder x52 Pro v5 with radar bands changed which is a *pRo file. Anyway I will keep trying.

I think it is to do with the APPLY button which is not seeming to work when assigning callbacks to either the controllers or keyboard. I may have to do an uninstall and reinstall.
