Can't upgrade firmware of my Warthog FSSB R3
-
Hello,
I need your advice:
Because of a hardware change, I proceed to reinstall all my software and software simulation under Windows 10 pro
My concern is with the Warthog, with its FSSB R3.Installing drivers;
firmware verification: that the Stick is correct (v11), but not the Throttle (v20 to 23)
I run the update process trottle that never ends (erreur0x34100001) during the preparation of the material.
a little search tells me that it must be done Upgrade by connecting directly to the PC USB and not on a powered hub.
desinstall- install …. nothing works.
attempting to verify if the process works with the stick, the update s’ is launched but failed. So I end up with:
V0 stick and it is not recognized …
Trottle v20 … recognized deviceMy first question is:
- Is it necessary to remove the FSSB R3 from the stick before starting an update firmware?
- Otherwise: what should I do? I confess that I feel a very embarassed with this concern and unable to continue the BMS install
and - what kind of improvement brings v23 compared to v20?

Not sure about FSSB but I have an unmodded WH and cannot seem to update the firmware on the throttle. The stick is fine. After about 5 attempts, I decided to just pass on it and keep the throttle on FW 20.

Thanks -ice for the imput
Update :
Problem solved. Nothing to do with FSSB R3
I did the update firmware without any difficulties on my old computer, which is running with Windows SEVEN.
So it appears that the pb is Windows 10My install HOTAS is ok now. I JUST have to configure it …;)

I’m on Win7 64 bit

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you could try w10. [emoji4]

Bite your tongue!!
Then again, your problem was with the stick, right? My problem is the throttle unit.
-
Initially the pb was exactly same as yours. Can t upgrade throttle.
I ruined the firmware of the stick when trying to reinstall the firmware ! -
Can you go into more detail how you got to fix the issue? Might try that for my throttle. At the moment though, I’m going with the “if it ain’t broken…” line of thought

in fact I did nothing special on my hold SEVEN 64bits PC : just do install the hold drivers, reinstall the new ones with firmware update, plug the hotas when required, and run the firmware update. Really nothing special. sorry, I am aware that it is not very helpful:(

Hi all
I have just bought a new system and within was a MSI Z170A gaming M7 motherboard. Its also running Win 10, my HOTAS Warthog after installation would not work as it was not being recognised by the system when it came to updating the firmware it would fail every time. So I contacted Thrustmaster for advice but after 5 days of backwards and forwards it was still the same. I borrowed my sons Win 10 laptop installed the Warthog drivers onto it plugged in and updated the firmware on the laptop. Then uninstalled the Warthog drivers from my new system removed all files associated with the HOTAS rebooted reinstalled the drivers followed normal install instructions. Now the Warthog works fine but I cannot update the firmware on the new system. I believe its related to the mboard drivers and USB ports. Hope this helps anyone having same sort of issue.

Maybe i don’t understand it right, but you have already updated the firmware, why will you update it again?

I had issues updating the firmware on my Warthog as well. I went into BIOS and turned the USB3 ports down by turning XHCI off. When I restarted Windows had to update some drivers to find the USB ports again. That solved it, and I could update the firmware.
I set the BIOS back again afterwards to get full speed on my USB3 ports.
The funny thing is, I wasn’t even using the USB3 ports for my Warthog. Yet this worked.

Hey Wingedsky, I ust got my FSSB pedals and ran into the same problem. Contacted Thrustmaster and they gave me no help there is no firmware for the pedals. when I ran the script with joystick and throttle and rudders, thrustmaster combined work but the rudders were connected to the Throttle. So I got around it by unplugging the pedals and then plugged them back in before opening BMS. In the UI they show up as t-rudder and work fine. It’s a pain but until Thrustmaster come up with something we’re stuck.
