An update on progress towards 4.33 availability
-
There’s about 100 things I’ve love to say, to the new owner of the title, to gee them along. But suffice to say here on these pages, I am so eagerly awaiting BMS being available again that I’m holding off buying the title on steam - even if it is currently on sale, at the moment no BMS, no sale… I wonder if they appreciate that?

Thanks for the update, hope we can enjoy 4.33 soon. In the meanwhile I’m continue to build my homepit. Hope 4.33 is ready again when the rig is built. It’s really stupid. Falcon BMS exist now for years. I’m a real enthusiast of military flightsims, but not so the great F-16 lover. I allways liked BMS for it’s great realism but wanted to have some more aircraft to fly. Now for the first time all the planes I love are in one super great sim and now THIS!!! Hope we will see 4.33 again. DCS isn’t alternative for this outstanding sim!
P.S: Because of the superb AV-8B simulation in BMS 4.33 I added a nozzle control to my F-16 Throttle. Made the hole cockpit-controls changeable for different aircraft, so you can fly this birds with the right setup. All this for BMS 4.33, cause no other sim has such a great collection of aircrafts. Really hope we can see 4.33 again!!!

I think all we all ask is to stay updated on this. I know that can be very difficult because of NDA’s and just stuff that is legal makes it difficult
-
Ty for update, but what worries me is not the waiting, but whether or not we will be able to download BMS in the future should things take a turn for the worse. I don’t mind waiting at all
-
Get on the stick.

And what about all the great work which was done in this outstanding sim, when things go wrong. Lost for ever? Or will there be a way to transfer the sim to a new project?
What about all community based sims, if any new right holder can spoil fan made projects? There is another great sim out there, EECH Central. One of the best attack helicopter sims at the moment. This project is very close to BMS in reference to rights, in my opinion.
If things go wrong this could be the end of many fan based projects. But what is our hobby without the community based mods? Except DCS and Strike Fighters Project 2, how many modern combat flying sim are on the market these days?
I really hope things will turn out right!

wow… After all these years, I Just got back into Falcon 4 by installing BMS on 01/26… talk about the nick of time.
I’ve been absolutely spot welded to it since. I try to hit the pause key every few days to take a quick nap.I just had my first forum worthy question about the game and pulled up the board to discover the latest news.
I know we want to remain positive, but it was such an awful feeling to see the announcement and the pulled links.I was just convincing my old timer friends to go buy Falcon 4 and grab a copy of BMS. =(

thank you for the information … much appreciated.

Hi there,
while I appriciate the information, this thread shouldnt be sticky and if so, it should be locked at least.
If there is in fact no new update, the update-thread should not be marked as updated.Greets!

Hi Team,
I won’t express my feelings about this as this is no place for that. I just hope it doesn’t level down your energy and spirit to continue bringing us such an awesome product to our homes.
I definitely hope you still continue developing over BMS 4.33UxMy thoughts with you guys!
Cheers

How many times have to we suffer because somebody wish to see money from a very old game which lives because of two reasons….?
I think here the developers who do it for fun and for the communitiy for free, the 3rd party devs and of course the community. If I ever won the lottery I would buy and give it as a present to only existing dev group to eliminating any future legal issues…

this 1 go’s out to the bms crew and those guys who own falcon now…
-
For me it’s clear, I will buy a Falcon Steam version only if a real deal is done with BMS.
-
I’ve already bought both GOG and Steam version of Falcon4.0 even though I already had a original one. I also bought another one for a steam friend who showed an interest in BMS. I was to buy yet another one but suddenly this issue came out.
I am really hoping to see Retroism(Tommo Inc), who has revived a legendary flight sim, and BenchMarkSims, a current developer of Falcon4.0, reach the appropriate agreements in next 3-4 weeks to continue its legendary.I am also looking forward to the release day of “Disgaea PC: Digital Deluxe Dood Edition”:)

This is fair enough hopefully it is resolved soon

Closing this one as I’m sure we’re all hoping for a positive outcome from the discussions.
An update will follow when there is new information to share.
-
I know this thread was closed, and probably appropriately so, but in the spirit of not littering up the forum with a ton of threads on this topic, I’l going to cheat and update the thread here anyway.
I want to thank everyone for the notes of support and for your collective patience. Discussions continue and I cannot say that we have a conclusion just yet. However, I will say that we are now engaged in some development work which I hope will allow us to finalize agreement and allow the resumption of distribution for the Benchmark Sims community add-on. You can be sure that as this conversation marches towards conclusion that we have the community’s wishes and interests firmly in mind – after all, the BMS team is fundamentally part of the community we have the privilege to serve.
Hang in there: the original Falcon 3-4 weeks timer hasn’t expired yet and I’m still hopeful that we can beat the buzzer on that one.

I’d love to be able to tell you that we are all the way done, but as of today we continue to march towards the finish line but we’re not quite there yet. Until we cross the line, it’s always possible that we won’t actually make it. However, all the indications I have seen are trending well and conversation is now in a phase that largely touches on implementation strategy.
Once again I want to remind you all: the BMS team is a part of this community and thus everyone here – be they dev, tester or player – has an interest in the team being able to keep moving the state of the Falcon 4.0 art forward in a way the majority here will find comfortable. That is what we are working toward. I am optimistic that this is exactly what we will see on the other side of that finish line I mentioned.
I’ve seen a few unhappy and/or unhelpful comments floating around because we don’t have a release to share right now. Obviously the situation with having no work to share is regrettable but I believe it’s only a short term thing. Most have you have been calm and are being patient – your support personally and by encouraging others to do the same are both helpful and appreciated.
