Online Squadron Collection v2 is out
-
Had yesterday my first Human-ATC training with your tools. It was really fun and also demanding, OSC is really a great addition to our little BMS galaxy!
Would it be possible to implement a clock in F4AWACS showing the BMS-Time? I think this would come handy sorting flights and get a better picture talking to the flights …
-
Hi Monster,
Most probably you are very busy, but are there any plan to update your OSC so that it supports a 4.33 install?
Would love to force some 4.33 setup values with SQServer/Validator. -
Hi all.
We did yesterday a test with bms 4.33 and osc.
It actually worked but it was not possible to communicate with the human awacs even if he was correctly connected with functioning ivc and listening to pilots in 3d.
We tried having the human awacs out of falcon, on the 2d map and in the 3d.
When in 3d it was the only time the pilots were able to listen to the human awacs when talking in guard freq. No way to talk in vhf or uhf assigned freqs. At any time the awacs was able to listen to the pilots in map or in game.
We read somewhere that with 4.33 it was no more possible for someone in 2d to be listened to someone else in the 3d while chatting with f1 or f2.
Problem is that even if in 3d the awacs player could not be listened through f4awacs/ivc by other pilots …
Hope there will be a solution.
Thx

Hi Mano,
OSC works almost perfectly in 4.33.
The way we got it working:
Launch IVC prior to BMS. Mark force local control and connect manually to the IVC server.
Human awacs joins the TE, make sure to disable the IVC part. Human awacs has to stay in 2D, while his plane is at a reasonable altitude. Make sure the patrol time is long enough so that your flight doesn’t land.
All pilots have to be in 3D and on awacs freq.
Human awacs joins the SQServer with F4Awacs, and sets the desired UHF/VHF frequencies. He can now transmit via F1/F2.Sidemarks:
Human awacs will not hear the range distortion on the comms. The other pilots will hear the range distortion on his comms though.
Keep in mind that the range between pilots and awacs matters. We have done some tests and had a 1 on 5 comms quality with Awacs at 40kft, pilot at 25k ft and a range of 140nm between both. -
Hmm thats odd the radio range should be ca 507nm if there is no terrain in between with both aircraft that high
And 224 miles if the F-16 pilot was talking to a ground station.
Ive been in the cockpit on a trans Atlantic flight where they had VHF to land almost out to 300 miles from FL 390 -
Just saw 2.0.4 is out via Autoupdate. Any changelog available?

Got it!

Online Squadron CollectionChangelog
v2.0.4
*All Components: Added BMS 4.33 compatibility.
*F4AWACS: New recording file format supporting smaller file sizes (loading old format is supported as well).
*F4AWACS: Theaters are loaded directly from “Theaters” folder when program starts. If
you are given some theater files (ini, gif and dat files) you can put them in the Theaters folder.
*SQSERVER: Fixed some bugs in Setup Details Form.
*MSTRUPDTR: Fixed a bug with the update proccess. -
Hye,
Do you confirm if AISPY works with 4.33 ?
After test, it works when the server is in 2D not in 3D, it’s the same thing with your?
-
That’s how AISPY worked from the beginning.
-
Oups thanks for your answer, and sorry but we have problem with ivc, the transmission ok for GCI but pilots don’t heard us, and GCI heard pilots.
-
I’m afraid this is an IVC issue and not on OSC one. If you’re running F4AWACS, then while running an IVC Client alongside (connencted to the main IVC Server that everyone else is using), you should be able to manipulate this IVC Client (changing frequencies and transmitting) through F4AWACS.
I tested it and it works as it should. Do your fighters hear you when using IVC Client only?
-
No they don’t heard me on IVC client only
-
No they don’t heard me on IVC client only
For what it’s worth, just had similar issue when testing with our sqn. Used to work. Until we found the issue. Not saying your’s is the same, but maybe it is.
When starting IVC client first and going to force local control, you cannot edit the volume anymore. Seems my 3 channels had 0.0. Had to disconnect, adjust to 6.0 en 4.0 and then connect again with force local control and then everybody could hear me again.
I always thought that volume control was for the playback, seems its for my capture (so playback for others). -

Did the exact same thing as previous test: Start IVC client, set correct name & IP, check force local control, connect.
Problem 1/ Volumes are at 0.0 and not editable. With or without force local control checked the volume fields turn greyed out or not, but even when not greyed out, I cannot change the digits.
Only thing that helped was get into a plane in 3D (not 2D) and activate UHF & VHF comm switch on the throttle to see the IVC client volumes automatically go to 4.0. After getting out of 3D back to 2D, the volumes automatically went to 6.0 for UHF & VHF and to 4.0 for intercom.Thought that would fix it. But to no avail.
Problem 2/ In F4Awacs I can correctly hear the sqn broadcast on my selected UHF channel but they can’t hear me.
I see UHF/VHF/Guard go from red to green in F4Awacs correctly. The freqs are set correctly (logically because I can hear them), setting via F4Awacs correctly sets them in IVC client. When pushing F1/F2/F3 I can also correctly see the checkboxes activate on IVC client window next to the appropriate channel. Volumes are set to >0.0. capture & broadcast devices on IVC client remained untouched as I have used them successfully yesterday in same setup and all times before when flying myself. -
Are you using a ivc client.ini in your squadron?
If you are not connected to the mission, at least 2D, your mates won’t hear you.

Not using ivc client.ini day before yesterday and then it did work, strange?
I am connected, in 2D, in the seat of Awacs, both day before yesterday when it worked as yesterday when it didn’t work. -
I haven’t understand any thing you posted
-
Sorry, let me try again.
I have not yet used a custom ivc client.ini file no.
On Tuesday my test worked fine without a custom ivc client.ini, so I didn’t try one yesterday.I am connected to the host in BMS. I have entered into the online TE. I am in 2D. I am in the seat of an AWACS flight in the ATO.
What I can’t remember though, and this might be the difference between Tuesday (working test) and yesterday (failing test): I did or didn’t checked the “enable IVC” checkbox in the BMS comms those 2 tests. If I read this post, that might be the issue of yesterday.
Will try again this evening and report back my findings.Unrelated to the above issue but for you reaper, I read your ATC lady does not run BMS. I would like to have a setup of that too on an older laptop that won’t run BMS in 64bit. How do you cope with AIspy then for her to see AI flights? IIRC, AIspy host needs to remain in 2D, so you would need an additional person having BMS running in 2D and not flying along in game.

[…]If I read this post, that might be the issue of yesterday.
Will try again this evening and report back my findings.[…]Confirmed 3 times in a row now, the above sequence works like a charm!
In faulty situations I recon 2 possible mistakes I made. Either not setting IVC enabled in BMS and forcing local control + reconnect IVC only afterwards; or not hitting change freq buttons on IVC client again after reconnecting. -
Could you post again your procedure step-by-step? I wanna to make a test in our squadron …
