Poor Nove all that burden… Oh the horror
-
a couple of pictures ( i’m “working” here to taxi sign )
and the problem …
… same technique to build all my new taxi sign , that can be see at nightin the same 3d session , signs are like this
but all ok after some second and/or different position ( and opposite … )
what’s the problem ? unstable database ? my PC ? or “only:-D” my incompetence ?
thanks
-
Someone with the needed knowledge let’s help “nove”!!!
Thank you.
Keep walking Gio…

I think it’s not your fault.
While I rarely fly these days, I’ve already spotted some GFX problems in korea,
where complete ACs dissapear when I’m in 0-view and play with zoom out,
then FOV in, … in combination with rotate view.I guess this also happend to you.
So you work is great like usual, …
Cheers,
LS -
I don’t think this is the case. what u describe Lazy sounds like the hitbox settings wich affects the whole 3d object. in this case the object is viewable just a part of it is not. For me it looks that the specific face-polygon has a ptype that makes it transparent.
Either this was altered or wrongly set from the very start. -
thanks mans
i’m trying everything …

-
nove,
you’re darn crazy, man, and always making me laughing a lot - thanks godness for this also.
All the best, and take care,

No incompetence there, mate, that’s for sure!
I’ve seen this effect today on POH, so I assume this is related to 4.33’s changes somehow, since I’ve never seen it happen on 4.32.
Cheers -
Was it the same taxi sign?
-
Saw that effect on every taxi sign in the AB, depending on the viewing angle and distance.

CheersSo, dear friend nove, now it’s up to you keeping on experimenting and trying… helping hands will come to you from all over the world, as you’ve just seen.
Come on, Gio, “Less thoughts and more action!”, bro!
With best regards,

i try to change dds format
usually i use DXT1 , with DXT3 and DXT5 same results , mip mapping ?
maybe someone more expert can understand and assume what’s the problem to see what happen in BMS editor …when i select my taxisign feature , polygon(triangle) with this specs (image below) … vanish
something to check in ptype ? f4browse ?
… apparitions … disappearances … JINX … CURSE … a monkey with three head …
thanks

Well ain’t obvious when it says transparent in polygon type options? shouldn’t it be None? For example the same for runway has nothing selected in that section, not even none. and ptype is 6.
So for it to glow at night it must be like that. probably the hitbox values are wrong.Oh and such behavior in Falcon editor is noticed by me too I thought it was a Falcon editor thing as in 3d BMS it looked ok. though it should be exact the same… so that the moder - developer wouldn’t have to go in to try ans be sure.
-
This is what I’ve been seeing:
If you get closer or rotate to a near-perpendicular position from the sign, it’ll become fully visible.
I guess these small thinks are what make Falcon engine so damn addictive, sometimes we get more kicks out of it trying to solve some small things rather than simply flying, heh?!
Cheers!..and sorry for not being more helpful than this…
