Norway Theater - Lets do it!
-
Great to see this taking shape! A late 1990’s / early 2000’s time frame should have Gripens too
I do have FreeFalcon Gripen files (3D model in DXM, textures, data file) which I can contribute. Permission to use them is not an issue: the basic files are from SAAFOPS, and were willingly by the SAAFOPS team presented to the FF team for incorporation in FF. In FF, mainly Anthony Thomas (Ranger822) has tweaked them and at the demise of FreeFalcon he wrote: "I have thrown an open carte blanc permission for anyone at BMS to use my personal work for non-commercial purposes which really revolves around ITO2,
Aegean-FF and Taiwan-FF " -
Snail, I added two squadrons of Grippens to the campaign. So if you can get the skins converted to BMS’ format, I will be more than happy to add them to Norway’s Database.

That sounds so cool Chuckles. Thumbs up

A non-professional film of a Swedish excersise on the Gotland island in 1996. Viggens landing on, and starting from a rough island road.
Nice scenes beginning at 2:00, 15:00 and 21:20

Sorry if it has been posted
Sound in the 2nd half is a tad over, but the rest is superb and I admire the pilot’s taste of the settings he “chose” to fly over.
Beautiful. We have one theatre in modded IL-2 called MiSp Zapolaire which almost comes close to this. ALmost…
-
Lol, it had been!
Sorry, but on the other hand, that is such a kickass video…maybe tolerable to have it twice in here.:D
-
And you did well to post it again, Tom… ‘better twice than never’, as always anyway.
With best regards,
-
Very nice, esp. the bit around Trollfjorden!

Nice scenes beginning at 2:00, 15:00 and 21:20Viggen’s ground handling inspires me to do a test…
in 4.33, hit thrust reverser just provide a “stop” force… once you stop/speed=zero, the reversed thrust won’t push you backward.
so i check AV8 with thrust vectoring AFM - when i set nozzle to 120 deg, it provides a backward force, and make AV8 moving backward immediately… which means… if coder can make viggen with TWO thrust vectoring options: nozzle zero deg and 180 deg, switch with thrust reverser keystroke, then you could have it work like video clip - stop, reverse turn, and taxi back to runway within a limited operation area… or drive backward into a hanger.BTW, i found NWS NOT working when you moving backward/nozzle 120 deg in AV8…

Sounds good! If NWS doesn’t work, you still can use differential braking.

Yes, that’s it too!
This is another interesting way to consider the matter.
And I’d like to test on my own it, as soon it would be possible, just becasue I’m also curious. With best regards,

After a heavy session of campaign building, took a few minutes off in order to make a unique theater selections screen.
I wanted to show the true beauty of theater region in the selection screen.

And for that you’ve just made Putin jealous.

Lol! :)^

Update
I am making very good progress on the theatre’s campaign. At the moment, I am keeping the the theatre 4.33 compatible. Once I have finalized more of the visible items such air/ground units, trigger files etc I will convert the theatre’s database in order to make sure it is 100% 4.33 update. As demer928 has told me many, many times, a theatre can not be considered a release candidate until it is 100% stable and CTD free. Nordic is in 4.33 and I will be the same in 4.33 update 1. Before I talk too much, here are some progress shots:
Unlike Korea, Norway’s gameplay is much faster paced. I have heavily borrowed, Dave would say lifted, many of the concepts developed in Guam and incorporated them into Norway. Unlike Korea, NATO has equal numbers of aircraft and ground vehicles. So, unlike Korea, blue team players won’t be able use it numbers and quality of aircraft to simply defeat the Red Air force in one day. Russian aircraft numbers and quality are at least as high if not higher than NATO. Expect SU-27 and Mig-29 jets to be constantly harassing blue players as they cross into Russian territory. Finally, the biggest change from Korea is how players will fight and win the campaign. Attrition of enemy units will now become the primary focus. Bombing factories behind enemy lines will not win the war. Players will be forced to engage and destroy enemy aircraft and tanks. Search and destroy will be your new campaign slogan as you fight in the deadly environment of the Nordic Theatre. Also, big Kudos to Reventor for making the UI page.

Looks very promising.
The UI map is very sexy… -
… and just because also for this I can’t await to have a flight on it soon
Bravo!, Chuckles, keep on this way.
With best regards,

Good job. Keep it going.
Lets see those lovely fjord and snow capped mountains tiles in this region. Wishing the best in your work. Cheers -
