Lightning's MFDE and 4.33

No, you STILL use the bigger monitor as main screen! The one screen in the upper left corner must NOT be the main monitor.
I use three 27" monitors (connected as one big screen via Eyefinity) one 24" touch screen and one 22" monitor displaying MFDE. The 24" is arranged in the upper left corner, right from him the 22" and then below them the 3-screen-Eyfinity group which is still the main screen.
I try almost all possibile screen configuration, but result is always the same …
Windowed falcon --> MFDE working
Fullscreen falcon —> MFDE BLANKplease check the combination I try and let me know if yours is different =(

Dragging the screen I notice that the real (0,0) position is always the one on the screen set as main…
if for example you look at these:

the upper left corner is (-800,0) because 800 is the horizontal resolution of my lcd monitors…. -

what it happen to me is just a little bit different.
I installed MFD and it worked for a week, than it stop to work.
I’m using it in a client mode configuration an what is happening is tha the server is stopped to send data to client, but it work fine in standalone and client mode.
I have the Antivirus and firewall disabled, i try to uninstall and to reinstall deleting appdata and register data. NOTHING.
it is installed on standard release of Windows 10 but also client is on W10 (and in worst situation because it is using the insider version). As i can see from Process monitors programs and TCP viewer that MFD in server mode doesn’t open TCP port and doesn’t star to listening on it…but it does it in client mode !!!
there is no way to debug program, i set de lo4net to ALL in config file but no message has been wrote on the log file.If i restore windows from a old recovery point it works again for a week without any evident windows upgrade

please check the combination I try and let me know if yours is different =(

All,
I’ve read every post in the thread and similar threads. 0.6.1.1 starts (as in, goes to the system tray when I run the .exe), but when I click on it in the tray to access options and set gage positions, nothing happens. I’ve used earlier versions with 4.32 no problem. I’m trying to run 0.6.1.1 with BMS 4.33. I’ve done the following:
1. Running as admin. I’m running windows 8 so “disable visual themes and desktop composition” aren’t options to disable.
2. Installed to the root C directory.
3. Uninstall/Reinstall and cleaned out the registry between installs.
4. Click and waited forever as some here have suggested it is just slow.
5. Re-booted and tried running MFDe straight away (in an attempt to get it to start before the computer forgot it didn’t know how.)
6. Tried re-installing an old version 0.5.7.0, deleted folder without installing and installed 0.6.1.1 on top of it to same folder (as suggested in this thread). While 0.5.7.0 was installed, I did click on it to verify I could open settings, and I could.
7. Pulled lots of hair out.Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Windows 8 (don’t ask… I’ve tried to upgrade), i7-4770 @ 3.4 GHz, 8GB RAM, 64-bit, 2 monitors with one setup as a touchscreen for HELIOS.

Have you tried v0.6.1.0? I had the same issues with v0.6.1.1 but the previous version works just fine.

Mfde does not update the mfd screens if I switch to windows and switch back to the sim. The gauges are working fine. Is this a bug in bms or mfde?

Try restarting the sever. I don’t think it wold like alt tabbing out while you are in 3D.

if it worked in 4.32 - my guess is that MFDE is still “pointing” at 4.32 and NOT 4.33
go to “options” - Performance - BMS Advanced options - look at “BMS Installation Folder” I bet you a beer it set to C\Falcon BMS 4.32 … click Browse and re direct to 4.33.

After browsing 19 pages here I’m just tired and could some help getting MFDe to work.
Background:
I run BMS 4.33 on my desktop and export the MFDe 6.1.1 to my laptop, both run Windows 10.Desktop:
Asus ROG Rampage III Gene MB, i7920 overclocked to 4.1GH and a R9 290, 24 GB ram.Laptop:
Asus ROG i7 4720HQ (2.6GH), GTX980M, 16 GB RamThe initial issue was that MFDe didn’t do anything which was related to Norton deleting the dll file. I reinstalled it and excluded the file from future scanning. Got the network settings setup and setup all of the gauges I would like to see on my laptop. Change the config file to export the data.
Result is the MFD’s and gauges aren’t updating the graphics. I turned off the firewall on both PC’s to be sure that wasn’t the issue . . .
Any help would be appreciated and this may have been answered and I missed it? 19 pages . . .

Thanks for the responses.
I have tried 0.6.1.0 and same problem.
When I get home I’ll try reverting to a working version and changing the settings to ensure its pointing at my 4.33 folder. I have a working copy of 4.32 installed so it seems like it would still “work”, but just not extract.
Will report back!

Hi all,
Just formatted and reinstalled everything on my PC last night, and I’m trying to get Falcon back up and running. I think I’m 90% of the way there.
I’m having a heck of a time with this MFDE though…
I’ve done a little messing around and I have noticed the following:
-MFD Extractor program starts just fine. I can click on the task bar icon and go change all the settings
-Once it “starts”, it does not seem to get anywhere. None of the instruments are generated.
-It never really “Starts”. Once I click “start”, both the “start” and “stop” selections are grayed out.I’m thinking it’s getting hung up trying to start producing the video, but i don’t know how to fix it?
I’ve done the uninstall, reinstall (remove all the registry entries, appdata, etc…) and still nothing. It’s pretty frustrating because I know I must be doing something differently than I had done before because it was working like a champ a week ago.
Thoughts?

MFD extractor mocks me. After several hours away yesterday, I returned to the computer and the options panel had finally rendered. I selected my desired instruments and waited for an extraordinary long time before everything rendered and was then able to drag everything into place. This morning I had to reboot for an unknown reason, and MFD extractor didn’t come back up when I rebooted. After waiting about 40 minutes, I logged on here to detail my findings, and as I hit “reply” to my post above, all the instruments rendered in place. Anyone know why 0.6.1.1 (and 0.6.1.0 for me) take so long to load?
Thanks in advance! And Lightening, if you’re reading, I love the program and what you’ve done with it. It’s worth the wait for the gages to render, but it does force me to plan my flight time well in advance Thanks for the software!

2 If it worked in 4.32, try the 4.32 callsign.ini

Turns out that installing all the windows updates, getting the newest drivers and installing the newest version of MFD Extractor worked like a charm. Really, the most important thing was to have all the windows updates completed. Nothing worked properly until that was done.
Of note, it was Windows 7.
Also, as suggested, it was run as admin, and disabled visual themes in the compatibility tab.

Sometimes MFDE won’t work if Windows updates are ready to be installed or you are notified updates are available. I turned off notify me and search myself for updates.
