Lightning's MFDE and 4.33

Have you tried v0.6.1.0? I had the same issues with v0.6.1.1 but the previous version works just fine.

Mfde does not update the mfd screens if I switch to windows and switch back to the sim. The gauges are working fine. Is this a bug in bms or mfde?

Try restarting the sever. I don’t think it wold like alt tabbing out while you are in 3D.

if it worked in 4.32 - my guess is that MFDE is still “pointing” at 4.32 and NOT 4.33
go to “options” - Performance - BMS Advanced options - look at “BMS Installation Folder” I bet you a beer it set to C\Falcon BMS 4.32 … click Browse and re direct to 4.33.

After browsing 19 pages here I’m just tired and could some help getting MFDe to work.
Background:
I run BMS 4.33 on my desktop and export the MFDe 6.1.1 to my laptop, both run Windows 10.Desktop:
Asus ROG Rampage III Gene MB, i7920 overclocked to 4.1GH and a R9 290, 24 GB ram.Laptop:
Asus ROG i7 4720HQ (2.6GH), GTX980M, 16 GB RamThe initial issue was that MFDe didn’t do anything which was related to Norton deleting the dll file. I reinstalled it and excluded the file from future scanning. Got the network settings setup and setup all of the gauges I would like to see on my laptop. Change the config file to export the data.
Result is the MFD’s and gauges aren’t updating the graphics. I turned off the firewall on both PC’s to be sure that wasn’t the issue . . .
Any help would be appreciated and this may have been answered and I missed it? 19 pages . . .

Thanks for the responses.
I have tried 0.6.1.0 and same problem.
When I get home I’ll try reverting to a working version and changing the settings to ensure its pointing at my 4.33 folder. I have a working copy of 4.32 installed so it seems like it would still “work”, but just not extract.
Will report back!

Hi all,
Just formatted and reinstalled everything on my PC last night, and I’m trying to get Falcon back up and running. I think I’m 90% of the way there.
I’m having a heck of a time with this MFDE though…
I’ve done a little messing around and I have noticed the following:
-MFD Extractor program starts just fine. I can click on the task bar icon and go change all the settings
-Once it “starts”, it does not seem to get anywhere. None of the instruments are generated.
-It never really “Starts”. Once I click “start”, both the “start” and “stop” selections are grayed out.I’m thinking it’s getting hung up trying to start producing the video, but i don’t know how to fix it?
I’ve done the uninstall, reinstall (remove all the registry entries, appdata, etc…) and still nothing. It’s pretty frustrating because I know I must be doing something differently than I had done before because it was working like a champ a week ago.
Thoughts?

MFD extractor mocks me. After several hours away yesterday, I returned to the computer and the options panel had finally rendered. I selected my desired instruments and waited for an extraordinary long time before everything rendered and was then able to drag everything into place. This morning I had to reboot for an unknown reason, and MFD extractor didn’t come back up when I rebooted. After waiting about 40 minutes, I logged on here to detail my findings, and as I hit “reply” to my post above, all the instruments rendered in place. Anyone know why 0.6.1.1 (and 0.6.1.0 for me) take so long to load?
Thanks in advance! And Lightening, if you’re reading, I love the program and what you’ve done with it. It’s worth the wait for the gages to render, but it does force me to plan my flight time well in advance Thanks for the software!

2 If it worked in 4.32, try the 4.32 callsign.ini

Turns out that installing all the windows updates, getting the newest drivers and installing the newest version of MFD Extractor worked like a charm. Really, the most important thing was to have all the windows updates completed. Nothing worked properly until that was done.
Of note, it was Windows 7.
Also, as suggested, it was run as admin, and disabled visual themes in the compatibility tab.

Sometimes MFDE won’t work if Windows updates are ready to be installed or you are notified updates are available. I turned off notify me and search myself for updates.

Hi guys, i have only one big problem. The program is very slow. For the start 5 minutes….For mod 5 minutes…hahah but works. You find my sistem on the sign, my version 0.6.1.1…can help me?

Must been another problem, because i have running MFDE flawless on a pure Windows 7 SP1 installation. Not one Windows Update installed becuase its an installation only for BMS, so no security fixes needed.

Well, I had same trouble. Looks like my Antivirus soft likes to delete the “Common.InputSupport.dll” file, even after setting the whole folder in the Exception list.
No matter what I do, every time I re-start Windows that file is deleted, and the result is exactly that: Not being able to Start/Stop (gayed out).
I had a copy of that file in other place, and the Startinng script I use to launch all the soft-pieces of the Pit (MFDExtractor, Target, TiR, etc etc) also copy that file on its place before starting it up.
Nasty, but at least it Works.
I´ve read that the same file taken from the previous versión, could “survive” to that kind of Antivirus conspiracy… But I haven´t try yet.
You should find that file on “C:\Program Files (x86)\Falcon MFD Extractor\Common.InputSupport.dll” (on your installation folder).
Hope it helps.
Good luck! -

ESET? Quick google search didn’t reveal what this is exactly. Link? Does this display cockpit instrumentation?
