Well, Here We Go Then.

Nothing to add here, just a :bowd: to the community for being awesome and helping out.
To the OP, BMS is a very complicated sim, both to set up and to play. But the community is here for a reason. You just need to ask the right questions and listed. Good luck!

Well, its not true that the x52 is incapable of using the mouse cursor. You could assign a deadzone to it.
i know but it’s off center by so much that a deadzone actually defeats the purpose

I dispute that it is part of the definition, and I know of at least one piece of joystick software that does handle DX shift states and more besides instead of the game software.
How do you define DX shift states then?

See page 7-32 in the BMS Key File Manual located at C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input.

The guy needs some simple help, and look at the replies.
Don’t download anything just use the the basic keyfile that is loaded by default. This is the one showing unless you have “loaded” one of the others, you see it in the “Setup/Controllers” Tab.
Have your Stick software running but don’t program anything in there yet. In the BMS set up page left mouse click the function you want and then activate the stick control that it should be associated with.
Using the manual as a guide to do this until you use up all 32 DX button assignments. The rest use your Stick software to assign key strokes.
TO-BMS1F-16CM-1 PG 26 and 54 is where you need to look,Do that and then much latter when you comfortable with the Sim and the Controls you can experiment a bit.
Use the KISS motif.
And as already mentioned open the DeviceSorting.txt and if needed move the stick to the top of the list with cut n past.
For me it shows as: {FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Combined”
Then I have the two bezels, you will have your pedals in there.I had to move the entire line this last install, at other time it wasn’t a problem.

For the love of…Falcon
I have used a CH-set and its a dream to set up. Why anyone would think its hard to choose a keyfile (BMS.full) - click to the setup - controller tabs and then leftclick on whatever callback you want, to get it to highlight (change colour) and then press any button on your Hotas is beyond my understanding. A DX setup is always the way to go if you want a troublefree Hotas-setup. Leave the software m8 even if the CH is one of the best out there and if win for some reason doesnt detect it proparly, driver is usually enough. It has 2 separate devices and gives you 2 x 32 buttons and 6x?.. axis.
I think its time to do a tutorial on the matter…
Stay tuned.
Good luck!

The question isn’t which default keyfile to start with (BMS - Full, BMS - Basic, etc.) One is just as good as the other.
The ‘problem’ is that the OP is then left with the following choices (in BMS), 1.) HOTAS functions that don’t work since the default keyfiles do not have DX assignments for the OP’s equipment (CH Pro), or 2.) the OP builds his own with the ‘click and assign’ UI method, or 3.) the OP gets a community supplied HOTAS setup further optimized to BMS.
Number 1 is not a real option, unless confusion and frustration is the goal. Number 2 is OK, but the OP doesn’t (yet) realize the need for this command or that command and so may end up assigning less useful functions. Number 3 is preferred since it incorporates BMS knowledge (in this case, provided by Kolbe’s keyfile sheet which is a default part of the download) to create a more fully functional HOTAS.
I started with someone else’s profile (Hard~Deck’s) and so have many others. Using a ‘pre-built’ profile (i.e. number 3 above) is popular option. I happen to believe a pre-built profile using DX to maximum extent is better.
Regardless of what method is used the OP will NEED to assign axis and perform other ‘setup’ chores (optimized graphics/FPS anyone?).

It could also be good to have the OP comment on the answers instead of starting a thread per day without ever replying

Here at last.
Sorry but I have been away for the last day. I see so many replies that it leaves me wondering where to start.
Shadow’s post sounds like the easy way to go, so I guess I will start with that and see what happens.
Thanks to everyone for their input. I’m sure there must be something I can use it there.:DI may be back with a question. Like what the hell do I do now!:dhorse:

I’ve mainly got experience with Saitek and the Cougar, and I have to say the old Foxy and Korgy programs beat TARGET and the crappy Saitek software by a country mile. It’s complicated at first, but once you learn the syntax there is nothing you can’t program that stick to do. I only assign axis controls in game, and that’s only for the antenna and radar cursors. I wonder if Foxy works with the Warthog. I don’t have an extra $500 laying around to test it.

Good luck and have fun……
