New TARGET Software Update
-
What new update?
-
-
Anybody using the new software? looks v similar to the old one. I’m a little unsure if I will update at the mo just in case it porks my hotas setup, even if I save my profiles elsewhere.
-
I changed, it doesn’t appear to do anything differently except the things on the changelog. I also had no problem using the new version.
-
yeah updated, no problems
-
There is a problem for some people - not working CMS Left when HOTAS is combined into one virtual controller with TARGET 3.0.16. Fix is coming (ETA unknown).

I’ve got this problem too - it also affects the Left Engine Motor switch too. Rolling back to the previous versions works for me (and others).

Does anyone have the last version to share? As a newbie to the Warthog, I have only seen this latest version and would like to try something that works!

Looks like there’s another update to 3.0.16.520
-
Griffin, I would go for the latest software as “a newbie to the Warthog”. I have had to reinstall just about everything on my computer due to a thunderstorm that took out my hard drive and SSD’s. I just uploaded the latest v 3.20.16.520 and loaded ice’s profile which worked in a short training TE. So I think it will be good when I get everything else installed.

The new 520 build seems to fix the DX18 bugs from the old one. Also I figured out the device analyzer on Win10, I had to select the device using the big round button in the upper left corner of the window.

Okay thanks might give it another go then.

A friend just burned his throttle last night trying to install the new firmware… JFYI.
Will let you know what TM support will say.

Did he unplug the stick and throttle as described on the Thrustmaster site? There it says in red letters:
Warning
Unplug all T.A.R.G.E.T-compatible controllers before proceeding with installation.
When prompted to reboot after installation, plug each controller again. -
Isn’t unplugging related only to installing TARGET software and not the firmware?

I was right - HOTAS should be plugged in when you do the firmware autoupdate (instructions). Firmware is also included in latest drivers so Raptor maybe friend of yours simply should try to reinstall the drivers following instructions here:
http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=311&cid=1However, you should unplug all of TM controllers while installing TARGET software.
-
Lol whatever. first time I heard installing software and drivers from manufacturer bricks the device.
Those TM guys act like they are hacking their own Sw and hw?Couldn’t they have an informative message of please Unplug the device?

Device Firmware and Device Driver are two separate things.
And yes updating firmware “can” be a risky process. It should only be encouraged where it is necessary.
Don’t fix what is not broken ……yet.

Yes, they are but they go together now. You don’t have to believe me - just go to the LINK where you can download drivers and read the instructions. On the bottom of that page there is an info in changes:
Includes Firmware versions 11 (Joystick) & 23 (Throttle)
