That did the trick, many thanks! I really like (and need) those kneeboards Also learnt something more about the LOD editor, so thatās two birds in one stone.
Thanks again,

Iāve just got back to try 4.33U1 and Iām a little bit rusty in using LE. Iāve managed to get it work for all other models according to the latest instructions except for block 40. Can someone more experienced write down quick instructions to get the body/legs to show up also in blk 40ās?
Thanks in advance.
-
OK, Iāve got it. Iāve just used 3091 reference then click on Normal button. Seems to work.
-
Iāve just realized that HUD glass (or reflection) is bit different with blk 40 so this is now rounded up. Still looks great however, it would be nice if someone would made correct body+legs+glass .lod for block 40.
-
You got it to work in 4.33 U1!!! How?! I followed Burnerās instructions to the letter and could not get it to work. Advice?
-
This is the instruction Iāve used. For block 40, instead of parent no. 4 on the beginning Iāve used 3091 which should be the parent no. for block 40. Only thing that someone who has better skills in LE should do is to make body/legs to have block 40 style HUD projector glass in front of it instead of the current block 50 style and share the .lod file so we can completely round up the conversion of the mod for the 4.33U1.
How to do for KTO.
Download the Harpoonās pilot/legs using this link:
Open Lod Editor for KTO.
Enter a 4 and click Normal
Click the button that says replace mode until it says Replace Mode then click the 1

Select the 4.lod file you downloaded:

Then enter 150 in nDOF and click Update on the top right. Then you are done and can test.

Looks like this when done right
http://e4myjob.com/x324/f5.pngGo fly and youāll have it in your cockpit. It actually should be in the cockpit of most jets not just 50/52 with the exception of maybe the block 40 or D models. I havenāt checked all the F-16s that use the HUD parent 4 in KTO. Also, note, if you need to change theaters after installing to test it in KTO, make sure you restart BMS or else you will think you messed something up when you didnāt.

@mirage3000 The Block 40/42 are my faves. (Flir capable US Blocks) Good news about the Hud Projector Glass project. Gizemkar has posted some stunning work for these blocks in his thread. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?20672-HUD-Projector-Glass/page3
Thank you for finding a solution for the pilot model for this block! Youāre awesome

Hi warriorF,
the link that youāve provided is related to the HUD projector glass however Iām talking about the HUD glass itself (onto which is projected). The issue is that the glass is of a different shape than on the blk 50ās so someone who has better skills should combine the blk 40 HUD glass with the pilot so we would have untouched HUD glass that is already provided in the 4.33U1 version alongside with the pilot model. With currently provided .lod files it is only possible to have pilot with blk 50 HUD glass style attached to the blk 40 cockpit. The specific blk 40 frame is there, however the glass is different if you look closer. It would be really nice if someone can make complete .lod file specially made for blk 40 and share it with us.
-
I personally consider this one of the best mods for Falcon, especially because of the kneeboard/weapon planner compatibilty and I just hope that also because of the popularity of the blk 40 model in the community, someone can merge the pilot model to the blk 40 glass and share the .lod file with the rest of us.

You want the block 40 hud in its entirety stuck on block 50?, or just the glass?, or the tint?, sorry bit pie eyed and not quite sure what you mean?:p, canāt understand why you would want block 40 hud on block 50? Lol!

IRL the WAR HUD is indeed a purchase option for Block 50/52/52+ aircraft. Some of the RSAF F-16D-52+ birds have them installed as seen in these pics.

Donāt like the block 40 HUDs ā¦ never have.

Cool story bro.
Thanks, I know you mean that sincerely.
Letās meet at FL200 in our virtual Vipers and settle this like men.

In fact, it was sincere and genuine since youāre one of the only people Iāve ever āmetā that isnāt head over heels for the WAR HUD.

I thought you were a Hornet guy?
Anyway, how about that pilot model for the F-16 and sticking it in the block 40 pit in 4.33U1?

Well a simple quick way I think would be just to change the block 52 3dckpit.dat to use block 40, I think these three lines might do it, but could be wrong?, never tried.
try changing these 3 lines in block 52 3dckpit.dat: C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Art\ckptart\F-16CM-52
cockpitmodel3 3;
cockpithudmodel 4;
cockpitcanopymodel 5;to this:
cockpitmodel3 3090;
cockpithudmodel 3091;
cockpitcanopymodel 3092;?

Thanks for the routine Demo. When I tried the old method, it messed up some cockpit switches/lighting. Presumably this isnāt a problem now?

Yes that would work. Iāve done very similar stuff for the 8th VFW custom wing install.
