The first and the third shot are incredibly nice!
Thanks for sharing them, Raptor.
With best regards,

Un Update, por favor?
El bumpo. -

Just a question about, stingray… will you assembly a pit for your BMW too?
JFK, of course.
With warm compliments and best regards,

Great Job!
What about polycount?
Cheers

Very nice! That 3D and a pit and one of my 5 favourite jets is fully blown on the BMS mission sheme.

Great Job!

Tom18000 Tris at the moment excluding gear, AB, actuators for moving surfaces, weapons and vapor. Not sure vapor is part of the model or generated by the engine based on .dat file values!?
I’m estimating there’s room for simplification/optimization to save around 2000 tris. If you add the missing parts above you’ll see it’s gonna be tight as hell to stay within 30K but doable.

ot sure vapor is part of the model or generated by the engine based on .dat file values!?
To me they are indeed PS generated by the engine, but I’m not a specialist on that.

Just doing a monthly Preventetive maintenance on the turkey just making sure no rust shows up……

I Hope work on this is continuing. Would love to have this in game. Would give me more of a reason to try some Carrier Ops!
-
how can we actually use this in bms?
-
I Hope work on this is continuing.
Yes it is, when Pete(SR_62) has the time. He’s a busy individual, but he always get back to what he’s working on when he can.
He’s “sort of” has a passion for it!!!

You can’t it’s not finished yet. Patience….LOL

Man
I can’t wait for this to go live…I love you man…:D -
I’m currently still working on the wings. Also before finalization of the model in Blender so I can move it to 3ds I need the gear. That’s taking a while. I’ll post some shots tomorrow of my nitty gritty connecting and merging all the antennas and fuselage details as well as gun nozzle and refueling assembly with the fuselage…
For now all I can say is its coming, Baby.
Some eagle eyes will notice that the inner rear of the wings protrudes through the topside of the glovebox. I shaped the wings according to pictures and blueprints (they’re all hopelessly inaccurate) and also adapted the topside slope of the glovebox which is by now 99% accurate. Also checked the angle of the wings and tilted them just right at zero degree sweep. Still this happens.
Either the assemblies on which the wings rotate are angled backwards meaning the wing doesn’t simply sweep back horizontally but actually back and down (which would make sense aerodynamically) or my wing shape is off and needs to be thickened in front and made thinner on the back. I haven’t found a solution yet…
On the brightside the general shape and angle of all fixed and variable parts is by now 99% accurate. It isn’t 100% as I don’t have access to a real Tomcat and there are no accurate blueprints so there’ll always be some artistic freedom. For fun comparisons check some high res images and pay attention to the top and bottom sides of the intake and the drop tanks in relation to the front fuselage. It took forever but it’s right on the money now. The rest will be taken care of the engine, we’ll see how it handles at 170kts in a hard turn

Clumsy pos light on left tail…
Pretty tough to get the geometry right from all angles, almost there.
Antenna on rear end of left tailtip…
Above you see the full blown beauty of these asymmetric tails. As a final step I’ll move them both back into 90 degree angle, connect the base to the (also asymmetric) connectors and then tilt them again (6 degrees outward).
For anyone who cares about poly count the final number for both tails including the tailbase housing will stand at or below 2000tris following some optimization. Considering the size and complexity I can live with that.
Some gear details following tomorrow…

You just own it. Respect.
