Nice and a before after would be more enlightening for those that don’t fly the F-18.

Looks quite alot better, Sting. Nice work so far.

Ok, tried to make the C model look a little newer. A needs more weathering I think.

I would say that both need weathering. The few legacies that are still in the fleet are pretty ragged and old.
-
Yeah i agree, I just wanted there to be a difference between the two models in game. Ie you know you are getting into a 40 year old jet in the A.
here is something i was playing around with. Adding some age to the A model

OMG! They both look gorgeous!

Pit is looking better all the time given the restraints you have to operate within.
My only major concern (not your fault Sting) is that it is still using the BMS F16 avionics and switches.
-
I want those textures!!! Beautiful.
Thank you for the nice work on that, was needed -

Got some time to start working on the stick and throttle.
-
Once again: beautiful! Do you also edit 3D model?
-
Outstanding work man !

thx.
I am only updating the textures.

Do all the aircraft in BMS use the Falcon avionics?

More or less. The Hornet has a pseudo-MPCD (the display between your knees) but AFAIK it’s still based on the F-16’s navigation avionics. Not sure about the other flyable stuff like the F-15’s, Tornado’s, etc but I believe they are as well.

Actually, it’s not based on anything nearly “Hornet-like”…maybe the ACLS Link. Maybe…
The only thing that’s even close to close is the radar display. No telling if it’s actually modeled any different.

Are we even talking about the same Hornet? There is no ACLS in BMS, much less the ability to couple the AP to it. And the radar display isn’t even close to close to close TBH. It’s the F-16 FCR display stuffed into a different cockpit LOD. The Hornet RDR/ATTK and AZ/EL DDI pages have a totally different layout, different symbology, different mnemonics, different sub-modes and capabilities, etc.

Guys its all Viper avionics (HUD does have some hornet specific layout). The 3rd MFD is just the HSI. BMS is a Viper Sim.
Having said that, hornet avionics in F4 has been achieved over 10 years ago ( see for 0.55secs).

Sting, thanks for sharing this video, very interesting stuff! I hope one day BMS become more modular and we will see other ACs more developed not only by coredevs, but also by 3rd parties.
Having said that I really appreciate your work on Hornet and other ACs. I still fly Hornet and Hog exclusively since 4.33 was released.
I asked about remodelling cockpit model because throttle looks like totally new thing! Magic!
Would you release that as separate mod or patch to the current Hornet pit or would be incorporated into 4.33.2?

i will just share the files when they are ready.
