AI wingmen disappearing
-
You DB seems ****ed-up. is it the vanilla model?
You should reinstall. How shall I made it? Vanilla? You see, that I’ve replaced the files for the skin of the F-16-CM-52 and I use Nuno Santos clouds, but all is only a replacing of the files, no changes in the DB.
Maybe someone has another idea instead of guns on birds…
-
Have you made any backup files? if yes, put them again in and see if the problem is still there
Have you changed any models via LODEditor?
Have you changed the hitbox or lod distance accidentally while you have been in the LODEditor when clicking on “view textures”?
-
I’m sorry but the reinstall is definitively the safer way. If one of the radius as been change, if one of the lod distance is messed up, it will be quicker (not more than 10min for a new install), and its the only way to be sure that all the lod / DB parameter is set by default.
Of course, you still can compare all values of the lod on the 3DDB, but it will take you a long long time… Up to you. -
Of course I’m sure I haven’t changed any number by wild clicking in the LOD Editor.
I will have a try by replacing to the vanilla files (again)… And if this/my issue still there I will also try with a reinstall (only to know what will happen then).Regards

OK!
But not Ok…
No, the same issue with absolutly vanilla! The wingmen disappear at low alt (5000 fts)…
What now…?Regards

Very abnormal….
Shot in the dark : can you change some parameter of your CG, one by one, and check each time? -

-
CG = Center of gravity
-
Okay, now I know what CG is…, but where and how to handle it? Hey, I’m not “LOD Editor-Master”!

I suppose Amraam meant that you should edit your loadout by removing items on it in order to shift your center of gravity. At least this is what I would try first, since you can modify it through the loadout screen.

I can have a try, but why should have CG have an effect on disappearing of AI wingmen while in orbit, or satellite view below ~ 6500 fts?

Hmmm cg probably meant computer graphics

Hm, I think you’re right.
Howsoever, this issue raises only with view from the side and back in orbit, or satellite view… Please, have a look on post #1, pic 1 to 3. It is always the same, never e.g. from the front. And #2 is disappearing with view from the right (#3 and #4 is still visible), #3 and/or #4 disappear with view from the left (against clockwise), and #2, #3, #4 together always and only disappearing from the back (like in pic 3 in post #1).
BTW: Has anyone tested it too? Flying with a 4-ship, alt ~5000, to get all AI wingmen into screen several times ‘Get closer’ and pressing e.g. 0 for the orbit view and then rotating the view?
Regards

Wooopps sorry, my bad. Too tired, I mean GPU. CG is in french (Carte Graphique).
I never had the issue.
