FPS problem !

OK Arty I will take a look at both items and work from there, thanks for the food for thought.

You are welcome

NikolaCC have you tried this?
"Go to User/Config. Open falcon bms.cfg with notepad and find the following entry:
set g_bExportRTTTextures 0 Change it from 1 to 0. Start with this option and see if you get any FPS back."

I was told it’s smart to use Notepad++ to edit files… anyone disagree?

Notepad is fine, for me this setting definitely gave me more fps. Don’t forget to save after editing.

I don’t get it. I have seen this solution posted many times.
Ain’t the default value zero?
Or it is 1?Sent from TapaTalk

I think 1 is on and 0 is off. I do remember changing the default as I only use one screen. isn’t the setting for multi screen.@Arty:

Default value for “set g_bExportRTTTextures” is 1. Confirmed.
Nikos. -
As the manual says …
g_bExportRTTTextures This enables the shared texture memory area for HUD/MFDs/ HMCS/RWR/DED/PFL. This is independent from BMS external window usage. Available options: 0/1. Default = 1.
Please note: this option must be enabled (1) for MFDE to work.Might be Worth erading the FPS quest chapter as well
-
Not logical to me.
Most users don’t use it so the common would be this to be 0.
Anyway thanx.Oh and I don’t usually read the manual first. Wrong - right that’s the way…
-
you do what you want Arty
but then try not to confuse ppl on the forum with your uncertaincywe wrote the manuals to explicity stop this nonsense
When you (or anyone for that matter) refer to something, it would be nice to check first if it’s right, that way, ppl have the right info. -
Sure we have discussed this many times and with many…
Still it was a 2 points q. and I believe the manual doesn’t cover the why 1 is default.I’m not saying it should.
Also I’m not trying to confuse anyone. Trying to help.
As u witness I say IIRC and in many late posts u’ve seen me referencing to the manual or saying read the manual. So please don’t uncertainly say I’m uncertain on my posts on purpose. word play. Cause as you see I try already.

I have a 4.33 fly on 35-45 FPS, yesterday I installed 4.33 U1 at the same settings, the council can not fly 10-15 FPS.
I have a 64 bit version for Veterans- Gaming server throws compatible 32 bit vs. 64 bit .O What is it? -
Good day. When i fly training missions, my fps is very good, but in campaing it is very low (i don’t know key combination to see fps). When i fly in campaing, processor and RAM load 30-40%. How to make good fps in campaing, please help…

i5-2400 3.10GHz
ram 20GB DDR5
GTX 760 driver version 344.11To much unmatched ram.
It will be running on single channel and at the speed of the slowest stick.
Using all 4 dimms also induces extra lag/latency and can require a bit more voltage to run stable.
On the minimal info you have given this is the only item worth comment.
PS: DDR5 ?
-
Yes, i have ddr5 ram, all memory sticks are the same. You reccomend me unistall some memory sticks? I have power supply Thermaltake 1000W.

There are ddr5 motherboards?
First time I read this. Which model?Sent from TapaTalk

You don’t have a DDR5 motherboard as they don’t/didn’t exist for that or any current CPU.
It is highly unlikely you have 20 Gig of DDR3 ram and they can not be of the same size or type. (2x 8gig + 2x 2gig)
Voltage settings are set/changed in the bios and have no relevance to your PSU.
Sorry I have no advice worth giving, as you haven’t provided any useful info about your situation.

BMS campaign engine uses a lot of extra processing power as calculations are being made about handling deployment and movement of all sorts of friendly and enemy units that do not exist in a training TE where mostly all that exists are the units specifically added for that particular TE such as your AI flight and a few enemy units for example. Campaign has large amount of random stuff going on that uses CPU power and memory.
For fps counter hold down ALT and hit c then release both then hit f and you should see counter top left of screen. To get fps improvement without upgrading your hardware then you need to read th ‘FPS Quest’ chapter which is currently p4-56 of latest ‘BMS Manual’ in your BMS docs folder -

Hello again artiom
To find exactly what type of RAM you have then perhaps use an analyser such as Passmark
[http:// http://www.passmark.com/products/rammon.htm](http:// http://www.passmark.com/products/rammon.htm)
I may get shot down by more experienced Members but IMHO then 20GB of mismatched RAM is not going to make a massive drop in fps unless you had some quite small slow RAM to start with and added large fast RAM in which case potentially the old RAM could throttle some of the advantage of the new. 20GB is quite big though even for BMS. When you have identified exactly what RAM you do have then you could experiment by starting with smallest stick and adding in more to see effect. Always try to match maanufacturer, size and speed of RAM though. Usually best to just have 2x sticks in a matched pair as Windows and mobo manages such combo best.
