Cougar Throttle slow response.
-
The throttle responds slowly, as if it had some sort of a delay: moving it rapidly to max position, and on the BMS setup screen in increases its value slowly.
Same happens on CCP Viewer.
I tried recalibrating it manually and automatically on CCP, but it didn’t help.
What could be the reason for this?
Hope somebody here can help me out with this… -
You have a poor earth connection somewhere within the wiring. The earth is shared between most pots. I had exactly the same issue and traced it to a broken earth connection on the ANT potentiometer.

Thanks! Looks like will have to open the throttle.
How did you find the broken connection? Used any tools? Or just visually? -
Slow response of an axis is typical of a dying pot.
You can swap pots to see but my bet is on the demise of your throttle pot.
If that is the case, there are hall sensor solutions replacement -

How did you find the broken connection? Used any tools? Or just visually?Nothing in particular - when I opened mine I simply gave a little pull on each wire and the dry joint presented itself. Resoldered and all was well again.
-
Thanks! Will try both options.
What would be a good source of throttle hall sensors replacement kit? -

BTW, when you had the same issue, was it with one axis or with several?

I verified the throttle pot. is faulty. Sent a mail to vipergear but no response.
Is there somebody else selling this kit? I would also buy an original pot, just to make the throttle work again… -
Hi Hikerone,
I have no mail from you in our mail.(checked the spamfolder aswell.) -
I use vipergear throttle hall sensor kit and I’m very satisfied. It works like a charm. I use it via tusba R2 but it works perfectly via cougar software too. Easy to install if you can solder a single wire onto 2 pins! I really recommend it if you want a quick not expensive and good solution!;)

Thanks! Placed an order just now.
