Implementation of Community made models for Later Releases

Is it possible? i’d love to see Janhas’ models included in the game, that’ll save headaches for some peeps (including me) or maybe textures, other aircraft models, etc?
How the devs would handle this question?-Cheers.

Its already been handled. The short version: People are free to offer their work for BMS to include, but it needs to meet certain standards, and you need to give the BMS team the right to use it in future versions of BMS and the source files, so that they can modify it if necessary for future versions.
JanHas license is incompatible with BMS, and actually prohibits using his models for anything other than website picture or magazine photos. Most people just dont read the license.

Besides that, BMS runs on a dated engine, which isn’t the most efficient when it comes to handling hi-poly models and high resolutions. I’m only playing in full HD on a decent PC, and still getting a noticeable performance hit on Osan-Taegu mission (at the very start, when there’s a whole lot of planes beside me). For people with huge multi-monitor setups, VR, or simply a less beefy computer, the performance hit would be worse. You can help some of that by shrinking textures (and using the HiRes folder for full sized ones), but there’s a limit on how far you can take that.
I wouldn’t be opposed to increasing quality, but performance needs to be kept in mind, too.

Well this depents on your hardware also and your level of performance and satisfaction.
My previous setup was with a 580ti and it was smooth. In many cases i had better performance than newer setups. I increased the monitors resolution and i switched to a 980ti and is smooth.
But we’re talking about something different here.
Having high res models is ok in falcon as far as you optimise your models with LOD’s.
Models lods offer 6 levels in falcon. Many for good optimisation.
In your te you might have low fps cause of the units and general calculations. Not to mention how clean is your windows setup from things running in the background.
We have had Jans models in various theaters and the impact was not that high. Missions were ok. Yes some users had issues but they would have either way when they are at the edge. Things advance, hw gets faster so the engine must take advantage of this performance gain.
Radium and other 3d model designers models that are high on poly work fine.
Maybe not detailed to death but they sure look awesome.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T818A using Tapatalk
