Theater developmental notes - The Tile's
-
AFIK when a campaign doesn’t work it means L0 is ruined, and this happens when you convert wrong a theater from the past conversions.
but some devs can explain better my opinion…
cheers
dema
p.s. try your esperiments in kto theater

GU’s only move through the middle of the tile. They enter in the middle at the N/S/E/W, move to the center of the tile and exit out at the N/S/E/W in the middle of the tile.
It doesn’t matter if you draw a road path that is not in the middle of the tile, they will not follow it. There is no reason to make multiple road paths on one tile that tries to follow some awkward path that follows the artwork. The GU’s will not follow it.
As you can see in your pic, the GU’s are following the middle of the terrain tile like they’re supposed to. Your path is drawn at the upper third of the tile. They don’t care about that path as that not how the code moves them. They only know there is a road path on that tile and they will use the middle of the tile to move.
Your bridge object should be centered on that terrain tile not up at one third of the tile.
GET IT NOW??

Yea I got it thanx… figured it but wanted confirmation and make it a big deal so others don’t waste the same amount of time as me, (E$&#$#&C#$#&%CV%N *$) and for Dev’s if they have something on the works for it…
@Dema I work on Aegean and for Aegean there is no Campaign and couldn’t be one as the links are fubared…
Is there going to be any fix on it?

the part with links being fubar shouldn’t be true, not at all. while the campaigns were inop, the links, the tiles and associated objcetives were all meticulously checked and done in the OF version by Phoenix himself…. if these are really fubar now, then it must be something in between got these whacked. i suggest you compare yours vs the v4x release for OF4.3 for the links etc!

Yes, Sorry u are right… I rephrase that, The Roads network has major problems.
Well the Aegean I have is based on the one converted and listed in this forum in the theaters Area. I don’t know if it is the one based on OF.
If u open it with Terrain Editor go to the objectives window and ask to test the links u will get some error, in Ankara IIRC.
Now if u open it with Tacedit is easier to look at the links… TE is a pain to unzoom and see the whole map with links, but u can easily see that the roads path network will not work cause the paths are not connected from one tile to the other…
Those sleepless nights headbanging to figure out Falcon ghosts and skeletons drive u crazy… u forget what u knew and u end up totally messed up…

Just reading your explanation of what goes on to make all this work in BMS, is very astonishing! I just want to say thank you for all that goes into making up this game by all that is involed you all are very good at what you do… Thank you

As I understand things, I can have 16 tiles per set, but within that set, do I have to maintain the “old” 256 colour palette which is consistent across all 16 tiles, or can I now use 16M colours per individual tile?

Tiles test for Ukraine (UTO). The area is covered with squares of 48 by 48 km (2304 tiles representing the real terrain - Ukraine, Poltava region). For cities, the coast, the mountains and the Dnieper River 1792 free tiles left.

Good Lord Tavor. I just saw this today as I was googling JanHas models. This stuff is mind blowing. Do you plan to make a fully fledged theater?
