Hmmm… didn’t work for me, so what I did is set the start at -1920, 0 and adjusted all my gauges. Works for now!

You can also just go to the “edit gauges” mode, when temporarily set “borders” on for that window, & drag the window onto the correct screen.

Dragging is so inaccurate and old-school!
I like to drag to get it in the general area, then fine tune on a per-pixel basis. Takes longer, that’s why I asked for the ability to “nudge” the gauge using arrow keys.Focal, do you use Helios?

I mean dragging the entire window. In Windows 7 it snaps to the left top corner on my pc. My second screen is is on top of my main screen, and aligned left so they both start at x:0. That’s the easiest way.
Nope, no Helios. -
You can even move the window on the screen you want to use, then right click inside the window and use the “Align to monitor” to set the window coordinates to exactly (0,0)

:: mind blown! I’ve not thought of that!
Anyway, that’s for later, need to sort out networking issues with Helios now. I’m surprised neither of you use it… I’m guessing you guys just extract cockpit MFDs and gauges to a slave PC? Helios allows you to send callbacks to BMS, ie, push OSBs, flick switches, rotate knobs and works best with a touchscreen…

I use a single pc and extract all on a second screen. I have MFD’s and ICP hardware on top of that screen.
Next to that I’m using the built in YAME key server and my iPad for touch device and flipping switches etc.
And in the future all touch stuff will get replaced by a full pit. Lots of panels already made, but no room to make the entire pit yet: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/x0rgrohzdpa02vt/AACucgQ76FqpG6swXb6-6qDpa?dl=0 -
Beautiful! Yeah, that trumps Helios any day!

This is where I’m having problems. On the client PC, I am on the CLIENT Tab, “Enable flight data” and “Enable texture data” are both ticked but I cannot tick the “Use Direct3D hook” checkbox. It is not active, I cannot click on it.
As a result, I have “Get data from network” ticked and IP and port is entered but the Hook port section is still grayed out.
Same problem here…
I got the gauges to work, but not the hook extraction.
The gauges work beautifully, very smooth and responsive.
roccio, big thanks to the devs for your work. i hope I can get the hook extraction to work on my server-client configuration because that would give me an extra 10-15 FPS which are very much welcome.
POST EDITED: Sorry, I had not realized the explanation by FocalDesign

Congratulations, fantastic job

Another suggestion:
4. When launching BMS from the YAME suite, then closing BMS, please do not close the YAME server as well! Or at least give us the option for this. Here’s what’s currently happening for me:
- Start YAME server on main PC
- Start YAME client on slave PC
- Click “Launch Falcon BMS” on YAME server
- Do some tests, gauges and extraction are working fine, exit BMS
***** At this point, YAME also shuts down the YAME server ***** - Start YAME server on main PC
- Click “Launch Falcon BMS” on YAME server
- Do some tests, notice that the slave PC no longer gets data from server so gauges and extraction not working
The solution I’ve found, in typical Falcon fashion, is to do a dance. Never start client after server…. always start server first. If server (or game) goes down and is restarted, client must be restarted as well!
As for my issue with HOOK extraction, here’s what I’ve found:
- Tick “Export flight data” and “Use Direct3D hook” on the YAME Server on main PC
- Tick “Enable flight data” and “Enabe texture data” on the YAME client on slave PC
- set g_bExportRTTTextures to 1.
For some reason, I don’t get any images if I set it to 0 and sometimes, I get “garbage” images. Hook simply won’t work. Setting the value to 1 makes it work, but even then, results are varied. It is rarely smooth and on some occasions, the extraction lags behind from the cockpit image by a few seconds. It may only be 1-3 seconds but sometimes that’s all it takes to determine a successful engagement or a silk parachute ride. So far, my non-Hook extraction seems a bit smoother. Is this supposed to be the case or am I missing a .dll or some config file somewhere?

Hey folks,
first of all thank YOU for a great tool!
I’ve fiddled around with this thing to replace my MFDE setup, everything works fine except for the LMFD / RMFD. The flight instruments work great, but the MFDs won’t display (just a black square or a transparent grey one if I choose transparency for the MFDs).
I’m extracting to a single default YAME window with the “3d hook” enabled (rtt_textures == 0 in bms config).
Any ideas what could be causing this? I’ve tried several theaters (kto / ito / balkans), but the mfds remain black and won’t display any information. (single machine setup)
All the best & keep up the good work,
Uwe

As mentioned above, try setting the textures to 1, not 0.
-
It should be 0 not 1. Please send me your yame64.xml and all logs

Should be, yes, but doesn’t work with that setting unfortunately. How can we send you the xml and logs? Email?

Another suggestion:
5. Please make it so that the program remembers where it was last placed before it was shut down. I have two touch screens and I move YAME to the left screen so that I can start/stop YAME client without having to turn off my Helios profile. However, each time I start the YAME client, it pops up on my main screen so I have to move it to the left screen again. Turn off YAME. Turn on YAME, move it to left screen again. Small issue, but can get really annoying when testing stuff.
Thanks!
roccio, check PM for the files you need.

Do you start BMS via the large button on YAME UI? That way the needed files are copied automatically to your bms subfolder. If you start BMS manually, you’ll need to copy those file there yourself.

+1 to Ice’s suggestion
plus another one,
On the preferences or settings or the RUN tab, ¿Could you amke it possible to run the sim plus all the associated programs with a single click?
So far I did not find a way to run all the BMS associated programs all at once and I have to select each one of the programs individually and click on run for each one of them. At least in my case, most of the times those programs are almost every time the same ones and I have to run them all. It would be nice to be able to run everything with a single click (yes I know, I´m lazy).
Going one step further, it would be nice if we can set as preference that the server/client, plus all the associated programs, plus BMS would be run just double clickng on the YAME icon, and then the yame window would be minimized. Once everything is set up, there is no need to open YAMEs UI every time.
DEVS, thanks again for the tool it’s superb
