Korea EM 1989 Update
-
The ROKAF has quite a few F-4Es in all of the campaign scenarios, and the first and second campaigns include a unit of USAF F-4G’s for SEAD support.
Unfortunately the F-4 pit isn’t all that great which is the main problem with flying them, but I suppose one could substitute it with another existing pit if needed.
Well to the cokpit thing. There isnt much cokpit builders left anymore. I tried contcting Qawa witch i think he is the original cokpit builder for the F-4 just so i can edit the textures, cause the model it self is quite good, (ok not fully clickable) but i think with better textures would be awesome but his inbox is full and he cannot accept any messages. I allready exported the ESK version and im starting my tests today

Outstanding work - looking forward to running this at UOAF.

EM 1989 Version 2.0 is now available from here; http://www.mediafire.com/file/r2aadw6hi48n8ia/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v2.0_Release.rar
Installation;
- Unrar the downloaded file into the …\Data folder in your BMS install location.
- Add Add-On Korea EM1989 v2\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Korea EM1989 v2.tdf to the bottom of BMS\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\theater.lst on a new line
- Theater should show up for selection in the Theater list in BMS (Remember to restart BMS after switching theater)
First post has also been updated with the new info.
This is a complete rebuild based on the U3 database, and is somewhat different from the previous versions, and not really backwards compatible in any way. It has its own install folder so it can be installed alongside v1.2.
Most notably this version fixes the issues with the carrier catapult alignments, and adds the AIM-9N (used by the ROKAF) and the AGM-65E (used by the A-6E) and the AGM-65F (used by various navy aircraft). The Block 30/32 F-16’s have lost the ability to carry the TGP (this was originally a temporary fix to add LGB-capable F-16’s in v1.0 when the 40/42 were not included).
The campaign scenarios were rebuilt entirely, so squadrons may not be the same as before, though should be broadly similar.
One issue I am trying to correct is getting the automatic mission loadout selector to not like rocket pods so much. I had added the ability for the F-16s to carry 2 pods on a slant TER configuration on stations 3/7, but the system would keep picking 4 rocket pod loadouts over AGM65s etc. for DEAD (which might kind of work) and even OCA (not so much). So I had to drop them back down to 1 per pylon to get rid of this behaviour. Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated!

Outstanding thank you.

Do you plan sensor changes?
-
Nothing beyond what is currently in there is planned at the moment, do you have any suggestions?
-
Thanks for sharing your work and v2
Cheers!

+1.
Interesting to fly, I love what the A-6s can do.With best regards,

Version 2.3 patch available from here; http://www.mediafire.com/file/dsb8v8djlfd4l72/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v2.3_Patch.rar
Installation;
- Unrar the downloaded file into the …\Data folder in your BMS install location. Overwrite files when requested.
This should be entirely compatible with ongoing games.
This is a small update (next major version will be v2.5) with the following changes;
-Reworked simdata for the AGM-45 and AGM-78, meaning these should perform more realistically (ie. not like mini-HARMS). In general you will need to be closer to aligned with the target SAM, and accuracy will still be an issue. RUK and HAS seem to be the best choices for modes. AGM-78 no longer wishes to be the first man-made object in orbit. These changes are still experimental, and would very much like feedback on if this is too extreme or not.
-Reworked simdata for the AGM-123, since its numbers were basically that of the AGM-45??? Its now using the GBU32 simdata for aerodynamics, and a pair of AGM-45 engines for power. Overall feel is that it has a lot more ‘heft’ to its flight profile, which is what I was looking for.
-Adjusted IR Sensors for missile seekers, and some AAM/SAM simdata based on molnibalage’s suggestions. These are still work in progress and generally not quite as extreme as in his mod, but AIM-9Ms and AA-11s should be more readily avoidable with flares now.
-Added Onboard ECM to A-6E and A-7E, still looking for how to adjust the strength of it.
-Actually removed TGP from Blk30/32 F-16s this time. Also brought Blk30 CM dispensers into line with other F-16s for now.
-Small loadout tweaks.Next version will be looking at;
-Seeing if I can get the F4 to stop dumping its ECM pod and AIM7s with emergency jettison
-Finishing up missile adjustments
-Possible addition of PL-2, PL-5.
-Trying to fix the belly bomb racks on the Tornado IDS, if I can get this done the German and Italian IDS will be joining the theatre. I may also look at rerolling the GR4 into a GR1. -
A realistic Tornado loadout it’s fixed as the racks files in Pacific and Oma 3.5 theaters. If you don’t have the whole theaters I can send you the necessary files you need.
Let me know if I can help.Cheers
-
I do not have those, would be interested in taking a look if you can link them? Will try to get in touch with their authors to see if I can use their rack files for the Tornados.

It would be great. Did they make the JP-233? It is possible to model a not so bad way.

no molni, sorry for that but about jp nothing has been implemented, me and my friends we just set the right loadout with the relative racks and dat changes. We thought to contact you when we were working on that to have the realistic jp233 cause I remember you worked on that in the past.
Both theaters have the same database, racks files, dat files etc.here the whole pacific theater http://www.flight-fencein.com/Add-OnPacificU3.7z
for others info, if you need, send me pm

Again, great work - we are actively using this theater at UOAF as our official theater and flying with 15-20 every weekend, plus pickup flights throughout the week of 4-10 in size.
It’s basically “korea hard dprk” except for different reasons - flight fundamentals, lofting attacks, A-A tacan use and WVR fighting are essentials here.

I can dig up what I did. It was not so hard I just did not remember the exact values what I changed. If the DB is not changed so hard “hardcopy” should workd. I simply assigned as rack the JP-233 big containers and small bomblet was set as Durandal type weapon. Rest was only correct rack setup to have the JP-233 rack even from 3-4 or 2 bomblets. Of couse bomb drag was 0 only the rack drag should be counted for total drag.

is it possible to take references from that racks file and db (db is different respect original bms install) to implement on this Elouda work?
also, Tornado dat files are different, should be great to have in Elouda theater your mod, it takes a lot of patience I thinkcheers

Version 2.51 released. This is a full install instead of a patch, due to change to include sound and object/3d files. Due to this, if you have been using additional object mods with 1989, you may have to reinstall them to the 1989 specific subdirectory. Apologies for the inconvenience, and the larger download.

7ZIP - http://www.mediafire.com/file/4911dgjg1ca4b8o/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v2.51_Release.7zInstallation;
- Extract the downloaded file into the …\Data folder in your BMS install location. Overwrite files if you have an earlier install of 1989 v2.
Changes from v2.3;
-Additional tweaks to missile sensors performance
-Addition of PL-2B and PL-5B, adjust PLAAF aircraft to use these where appropriate
-Addition of Tornado GR1, and Tornado IDS (both versions)
-Addition of Skyflash 6000 ‘SuperTEMP’
-Added engine and intake textures to Tornado ADV skin
-F4 and some aircraft now have engine sounds in the pit
-Instant action now uses the F-16C-40, and appropriate weapons (AIM9M/P, AIM7M, AGM65D, AGM45, CBU87, GBU12).
-Fixed missile firing calls for new weapons
-Fixed AGM-123 Skipper handling
-Changes to campaigns. First one largely unchanged, second one has less US units in theater initially, these will trickle in over the first 2-12 days. Third one has the AV-8B unit converted to Marines, duplicate F-14 unit removed, Jaguar unit changed to Tornado GR1, USAF F-15 unit added to Fukuoka.Planned changes;
-Changes to ground force composition and units
-Look at Radar SAM adjustments (currently most of the missile changes have been to IR)
-Campaign edits to support the above
This next one will probably just be a ‘patch’ type update.Have also begun work on Korea EM1995.
Also, if anyone wants alternatives to mediafire for downloads, please let me know and I will see what I can do.
