YAME64 suite

I just love this piece of software. It’s so efficient and user-friendly. Thanks a lot for that guys.
I have a problem, though, and I’m not even sure it’s linked to Yame.
Let me explain. I have a three-screen configuration with the following display settings :
[2] [3]
[1]Screen 1 is my main screen, for BMS 4.33 U3
Screen 2 is my Helios touchscreen (also displaying Yame instruments)
Screen 3 is the screen where I display the Centre pedestal Blk 60 from Yame.
Everything runs just fine on the same computer.
In Yame, I have two windows: one called Yame, used to display several instruments on screen 2 (e.g. Mach meter, altimeter, MFD’s, etc.)
The second one (called Extension) is used to display the pedestal on screen 3.
I have defined some keyboard shortcuts for the pedestal different pages (e.g. Multiply (KB*) to go to the Map page).
If I use those shortcuts from my physical keyboard, no problem. The pedestal changes to the Map page.
But if I set the same keyboard shortcut in my Helios profile, that’s a no go.
The same occurs if I set it in my Warthog hotas profile.
It’s just as if the shortcut never arrived in the yame window. But it does when sent from the keyboard.
I know some people managed to create an Helios profile with some buttons for Yame shortcuts.
But I’m at a complete loss here.
Any ideas ?
Thanks a lot for your help.Judy

Hi mate,
Thanks for the positive respons.
I have never used Helios, so I’m afraid I cannot be of assistance here. Maybe -Ice can?
Is your 3rd monitor also a touchscreen? Because in the next release MFDs & CP60 will have optional bezel with touchable OSBs -

How are you “controlling” the pedestal from Helios? I assume you have a button on Helios… but what controls are you sending and how?
I’ve not personally done this yet; I’ve not messed with the center pedestal/moving map, but it should be do-able. -
Ice or anyone else using helios as well as YAME,
I cannot reliably get the YAME gauges to always stay under the helios profile. Is there settings that i missed or any tips?
-
No issues here. Which profile are you using for Helios?
-
One based off of yours but changed some for my personnel preferences
-
Might be best to talk about it on my profile thread then; if nothing but not to clutter up this one

Indeed, I have a button on Helios. I’m using the keyboard interface in Helios to send (output tab) the shortcut I’ve defined in Yame to the center pedestal. What is funny is that it works perfectly OK when I use the keyboard to change the pedestal page, but nothing happens if I do that from Helios or from my Target profile.
Thanks for your helpJudy

Hello Judy! Please send me your profile and please continue this discussion on my thread so as not to clutter up this one. Thanks!

Hi,
I use a 2 PC Client/ Server configuration. I have a small problem with the moving map. Are there any rules, to get the latest flight plan overlay in the map?
I only get the current flight plan, if I restart yame server and reconnect the client after every flight?Other than that I get the flight plan from the flight before or no flight plan!
Thx for help…
Hello, had the same problem. Disable windows firewall and it works.

Hi ,
I was playing with 1.0.0 version , and today upgraded to 1.1.0 , and BMS (x64) crashed on the run, … every time on launch.
… pinpointed problem to a (secondary monitor) screen/window size. 1280x1024. … had to decrease vertical by 1 pixel … 1023. … so something changed, but now is working. (no big deal… just fyi)
strange. … like window desktop size counts from 0 not 1.Also , do you plan to support other/custom 8019 kneeboard textures in the future … when not WDP compatible?
One suggestion tho , for CP60 pedestal and alike, can you include 1 key - cycle operation … like DMS-mfd , so we don’t need 3-5 keys eg. for map -/wht … hsi/map etc…,
It shouldn’t be so hard to do it … and … I’m seriously missing available free keysCheers and thanks!

New feature in development currently is to allow the user to chose any image file on his computer to be used as kneeboard image in Yame.

It shouldn’t be so hard to do it … and … I’m seriously missing available free keysa DMS like key to switch main pages is a good idea! Will take that into the todolist. However note, as like the real F-16, the DMS switch only switches pages, not settings from a page. So you’ll be able to swap between, flight data - moving map- etc, but not for example toggle day/night map mode with it.
We are optimising though. For example instead of 2 different callbacks for kneeboard page 1 & 2 we’ve changed that to a single toggle callback. And you will be given the option to add the bezel with clickable/touchable OSBs too. -

place the yame window on the screen/location where you want, and don’t forget to check the “mask” option in the window tab for that specific window. Ref manual page 52 or 55
That way Helios is visible behind Yame -
I’m using YAME and it works great for me. Last week though I shut down the computer with YAME still active on the second screen and the setup part minimized to the taskbar on the main. Next time I booted up the computer YAME started minimized to the taskbar, but there was no way to make it visible on one of the screen. I needed to uninstall and reinstall to get it working normal again. And of course I didn’t backup my set up [emoji23].
I must mention, I didn’t try to duplicate this, so maybe it was just a one time problem and for sure not a biggie for me. Just thought I let you know [emoji6]Like YAME a lot, keep up the good work [emoji106]

Some people reported a but that when you don’t uninstall 1.0 and install 1.1 over it, the yame64.xml in the cfg folder is kept (as it should). However in v1.1 the feature was added to save the windows position in that xml. It seems that, in some case, when starting v1.1 the first time the value gets set to -32000 and so it is not visible to the user…
If it happens again, check your yame64.xml file for those coords first and set them to 0 0 before uninstalling
This should be fixed in the coming v1.2Like YAME a lot, keep up the good work [emoji106]
Thanks, a big update is coming soon. Still doing final tests and then need to find time to update the manual again.
PS: what are the odds. Your nickname is Terminator and I’m currently wearing my Skynet T-shirt

That way Helios is visible behind YameTried that , it just changed background to grey from white but still blocks out helios!!

that shouldn’t be the case. Mask should make the entire yame window transparant apart from the active gauges/textures.

Strange, can’t reproduce. .
Here’s log , if you can pull out something from it… and settings pic, as it were in 1.0.0 … - now I have to decrease vertical size to 1023… then it is working…OK…
Really strange.
… it seems like window size or position … out of bounds… when starting bms, it crashes with d3d error and it creates only 1 image in log file, for 1 monitor… but since I have 2 monitors, ‘normally’ it always creates 2 images on bms other crashNew feature in development currently is to allow the user to chose any image file on his computer to be used as kneeboard image in Yame.
Cool, kinda beat me to it
