Hi Gastone and Merry Christmas for all of you.
At the end of November You indicated how to do the following change:
- “Paddle Switch”= WHEEL BRAKES
- “Nosewheel Seering button”= SHIFT
As I wrote, it works prefect. After nearly one month using the profile with this change I realized that having SHIFT at the “Nosewheel….” is a bit uncomfortable because during the flights you use it several times with the pinkie finger and with some other bottons and can not be easily reached. To solve this problem can you teach me how to make the following change:
- “Paddle Switch”= SHIFT
- “Nosewheel Seering button”= WHEEL BRAKES
As you can see, is just to exchange the initail instructions between said buttons. I think with this new change everything will be more confortable and to avoid mistake pushs during the flights.
Thanks in advance

This will be more work than the first edit. You’ll want to swap the directx controlled call backs for SimWheelBrakes with SimHotasPinkyShift in the Key file, because I’ve updated the files, I can’t tell you which lines those are on in your key file.
To make sure the profile works as indicated you’ll also need to edit the .TMC. You need to change the function for the paddle switch to the pinky switch.

Big Ups to Boxin for taking the time to do this. I found a bug or two. The JFS starter toggle (engine Opp left forward on the hotas) left was triggering a UHF radio freq change. This was due to the new keybind for shift+ctlr+J, which is now is now UHF ___._XX Up. I rebound Jet Fuel Start Switch Up in the target profile and keyfile to Shift+alt+ctrl+J to deconflict it. Also, Morphine had left the idle detent set switch to JFS, So I went and set right engine opp forward to alt I for hotas idle detent. To fix it you’ll need a new profile and target script. You can get both here.

Ok, im at my wit’s end
All commands are frozen. Not a light not a movement, nothing moves. The advices you gave in the previous pages fly high above my head so i cannot even think to extrapolate any lesson and do it on my own.
I have loaded both the key and the profile, i made sure the virtual device is the first on the device lists on the .txt file on BMS and the only one on the device control window. I also made sure to untoggle every power saving setting from each and every USB 2.0 port i have. I also made sure both the USB are cable directly on the pc rather than on external hubs because you never know. Previously i have done a couple flight checks on DCS and the HOTAS works fine.
If i have to point a finger id say it’s the virtual device, but what do i know about anything, right?
edit: disregard, the old trick of reloading the whole pc did the trick…

Greetings everyone.
Been thinking of trying out the VAC (Voice Activated Commands) software with BMS.
I’m aware that you need to programme a PTT button which can be used via the keyboard or mouse but was wondering if anyone is using the Hotas for this?
I’m really happy with this profile and wouldn’t want to Change anything (except maybe the “shift” button) but, could anyone tell me if there’s a button/switch if any (probably in “shift” state), that I can use?
Thanks. Regards. J. -

Thanks TxMtb.
I’m somewhat confused and sorry for the “newbie” question but if I already use this switches for Comms which I need as I’m in an online squadron, how is it that I can also use them for the AI Comms?
Thanks. J -
The wing-man, unit, tower, ect commands are bound to different key binds than the comms switches. The hotas comms switches will not trigger any wingman commands or actions. You need a way to tell the Voice Attack software to listen for a command before it will execute a macro which triggers the the wingman actions. What TxMttb is saying to do is bind that command to Coms switch on the hotas. If your using the in game voice server, IVC, the your virtual squad will hear you Voice attack commands over IVC.
The work flow of TxMttb’s approach is:
1,player hit’s mic switch up. 2, The target software presss the home button on the keyboard. This causes the player to transmit of UHF radio in game 3. the press of the Home key wakes Voice Attack. 4, player speaks wing man command. 5. voice attack recognizes this and types a macro, in this case it types a w + a number to fire the game wingman command. So while you spoke your wingman command everyone tuned to your UHF radio would hear your command as you spoke it.There are other approaches to waking the Voice attack software as well. You could keep it push button and assign a non bound button to wake voice attack. Though with this profile you will have to edit the Target profile to do so. FYI pressing the mic switch in on the throttle is free, but I think the profile is out of direct buttons, so you’ll have to assign a key press to that. Meaning you’ll have to cross reference they layout pdf to find a free one.
The other way you could wake voice attack is with a phrase, so all you have to do is speak a phrase of your choosing and say the wing commands and they’ll fire off.

Yep the Mic Push is free, it outputs the F11 command but it’s a pulse, so you need to set it to toggle the listening on/off instead of “Listen while depressed”. I just use it to center OpenTrack.
And Gastone is right, your squadmates will hear when you issue the commands, just like IRL I suppose. If you were to always know that the AI is going to be on VHF only, you could just us that 1 PTT, the only others that would hear you have to be on the same VFH, Then use UHF for group. -
Mophine do you have the profile to the T.1600M FCS or could you design one for us that have the 1600 set? Would appreciate any help or a link where I can get profiles for this setup. I could not afford the Warthog set so I opted for the t1600.
Thank you so much

Hi gastone.
Thanks for your extensive and informative reply.

So while you spoke your wingman command everyone tuned to your UHF radio would hear your command as you spoke it.So after configuring the Voice Commands, I can then map the wake-up call to the “Home” key on the keyboard.
Then, when I press “Comms Up” on the Hotas, this will trigger the Voice Commands?
Thanks for your attention.
Kind Regards.

JYep, you probably want to set it to “listen while depressed” instead of toggle listening on/off. That way, you press and hold the mic switch up, speak, release the switch, and voice attack will send the commands it recognizes. Alos make sure it passes the command through to the program also, that way it also keys the radio in sim.
One thing to mention, the better you train windows to your voice the better accuracy you will get. I get high 90’s accuracy with my most all the commands. -

Makes perfect sense now. Yes I’m also aware that I need to spend some time with the Voice recon.
Gonna give it a shot.
Great community this one. Lots of helpful people.

Hi again guys. A little more help please. I would like to change the “Shift” button to the “Paddle” switch. I’ve tried to follow the instructions from post 215 but I can’t find the " SimDoNothing 259 -1 -2 0 0x0 0" line which I need to swap with the “SimHotasPinkyShift 258 -1 -2 0 0x0 0” line.
There’s a “SimRadarNextTarget 259….” Command, but nothing else.
I know that the instructions are a bit dated, so is there a more recent version or do the same rules still apply?
I’ve managed to get the “Trackir Centre” to work with the “Pinky” but also noticed that the “Shift” state is still bound to this button. “Paddle” switch on the other hand seems not to be imputing any commands.
Thanks guys.

the trick to slve my problems is to think about them for a whole afternoon without any success, then write a post on this thread and within 5 minutes having an eureka moment.
i am speechless, second time in two days.

I am afraid i need some help here.
i downloaded the files in the dropbox link at page 58. Got the target file in the right place for the latest TARGET version and the keybinds are properly loaded up.
BUT: the keybind are all over the place. PPTs are on left throttle btn and slew control, none of the metal switches work except the throttle pinky which for some reason moves the defence panel switches. i cant go on looking for other differences because it’s a time consuming task and i think there’s some basic error ive done i cant recognize. Where’ my mistake? Thanks in advance.
maffa, check your x:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\DeviceSorting.txt and make sure that Thrustmaster Combined is the first entry. Also search DeviceSorting.txt from the upper right to find threads on how it affects everything.
