Frameless windshield anyone??? heheheheeh
-
I have some in/out pics from this frameless windshield as installed in an HAF F-4E SRA…
-
PS : is ther anywhere a more detailed photo of the tail pod? Thanks in advance
-
And how she looks in game
-
Looks nice! But I have two comments. 1. The frameless windshield is not realistic, all F-4G pics I have from early 80’s till phase out had old style frame windshields. 2. The “dice” on the nose sensor is too stretched… But again, nice model and good work!

Jan well check again your info… and yes i will fix the “dice” though i think i might model it like the real one witch i believe its not just paint ofcourse

I stand corrected… But I think with frame would be better since it was a far more common sight. A 80/90’s theater (Kuwait, Europe) would benefit from a framed model… but it’s your call!

Of questionable veracity, but Ravell’s 1/48 F-4G kit includes both framed and one-piece parts. The history page included claims some late 80’s airframes were upgraded to this configuration… Beautiful work, Manos!

AFAIK only 4 bird received this new canopy, all where the E version. Later, 1 was delivered to HAF and the rest 3 where modified to G (if I remember correctly).

It could help
About the loadout :
-G usually carried AN/ALQ 119 or 131 on station 4 but I’ve found an option with a sparrow on station 6.

Ho yes, I forgot the superball…Have a nice watching
One point that you will have to deal with : 3 little typical antennas of the -G on each side of the nose (Part of the APR-38/47 global system)To come again on another point : Only 3 F-4G were upgraded with a one piece windshield…so.

Hmmm i have to edit the antennas on the model….

How that looks? I know not 100% accurate in shape but i think it ok? Mayb a little scaling to be thinner will be ok…

Now you are working on it, why not place that group (of 5 dots) right in the middle?

Antennas added
In tail also. And “idaho” tail art! The real one right now is in a museum

One might even go as far as sayin ‘we got an O.G.’ [emoji23]
Those textures are a work of art my friend! Really spot on composition in terms of panels, weathering and stencils. Always loved that patchwork style AC light on the F-4 tail!
Keep it up!
