And don’t forget the refueling probe !!!
Outstanding work mate, as usual
Seriously, if you didn’t keep reminding me I’d actually forget about it:)

Love me some hooks! And mirrors, well actualy just alck angulated planes but who cares.
Hooks also align and sink nicely into the fuselage rail for the canopy. Not sure yet how exactly the shape flows from the edge down to the panels and floor. If all fails I’ll throw in the A/C tubes and do a 2 way rounded inside wall.
Less than 400 tris for a great deal of immersion when sitting on the deck with canopy opened.

Needless to say, you’ve got us all hooked!
……Give me this one, I’m sick…
Good work as always Stingray. Always a good day when this thread is top of the page!

The ears of the pit - or something like that. Martin Baker SJU-17 NACES ejection seat. Couldn’t resist at least simplistically modelling that seat. I admit the seat belts are overkill but hey.
The super blocky original ones didn’t fit anyway because I had to lift the entire pit up and back. Even with detailed pictures estimating the proportions within the pit is guesswork at best. Absolutely not envying the pit builders!
NACES, Baby.

I follow your work with pleasure. I look forward to the day I fly this plane.

YES…! The seatbelts. I was all like… meh, UNTIL the seatbelts. NOW, you’ve got me…!!

Oh damn! I love it so much!! Thanks Stingray :bowd:

Front office finalized pending details.
-
pit console integrated into fuselage and windshield
-
sunshade now staggered from top to bottom
-
windshield frame aligned with console and canopy frame
-
all pit surfaces connected
-
seamless transition between windshield frame, consoles, canopy frame
-
ejection seats widened
-
windshield frame extended
-
inner canopy frame aligned and material added
-
rough color selection based on RL
Canopy frames still need to be extruded and aligned:
Without canopy:
The area next to the left/right lower consoles is tricky in front and pictures aren’t too helpful so I just sorta connected everything
On to the RIO:

Time for some motivational shots, now that a pit is there some transparency in the canopy glas can’t hurt :).
Pretty cool that the camo material when set to matte actually doesn’t reflect the light in the material view. Won’t be relevant with textures but still a nice touch in these material only shots.

What a beauty
Keep up the good work, Stingray.

Gorgeous. Love it

By the way, if anyone ever has an issue with certain parts or objects of a model NOT showing up in render or material render views in Blender like here:
Select ALL, press ‘W’ and select ‘clear all restricted render’ and voila:
Had this issue for ages ever since I separated the engine pods from the main fuselage but never investigated.
Oh and the nose gear landing doors have been ‘shut’, still not 100% happy with the shape.

Looks like speed and noise……Murica!

Beautiful work man!
I’d like to make a request for your next shot. Pick any angle you dig and press 5 on the num pad, then mouse-wheel distance, to get a perspective corrected shot. That will make my graphics-tart heart skip a beat!

To give you a definitive heart attack I rendered the perspective shots
Sorry about the quality, I had a 15% compression setting with 8bit colors but noticed it too late. Here is a full HQ shot, if still distorted it’s gotta be sth with Flickr:

this User Ortho is a very good one…
Tell him he’s the best…
