Installing 4.33 Problem

Correction on my last. I meant the WOW6432Node as opposed to Window6432Node.

Well, if you’re nuking your PC from orbit (read: clean wipe), then no need to use any sort of registry cleaner.
Recommend using qBittorrent as your download program and no need for a torrent download site. The devs provide the link to the official torrent here.

The most common and likely obstacle to installing BMS for beginners is confusing the installer folder containing the installation files with the target installation folder where the game runs from.
Once you get that sorted out, the installers get the job done with minimum fuss.

This Dude has tried 4 times to install U3. After the title screen I get the , encountered a problem and needs to close, every time.
I load each one at a time and test. U1 and U2 work fine, every time. My last try was with a new DL of U3, suspecting corrupt file.
Same result.
Taking a wild guess looking at the start of my Crashlog, wondering if U3 is expecting something from my hardware/driver that U1 and U2 were happy with. Been a Falcon fan since the days of AT. This is my first real show stopper.
Any suggestions ?================================== CRASHLOG =====================================

Go into your User>Config folder and delete the dx9display.dsp file and relaunch.(if it’s in there)
The file will regenerate and you’ll be able to get into BMS!!!

ICE and Cloud 9.
Reaching out to let you guys know, I solved my MFD extraction problem. I feel like a dope because I had overlooked (actually forgotten) that I had to place the g_bExportRTTTextures option in my Config.exe file. All extractions - MFD’s, DED, RWR and YAME64 Gauges - are working perfectly now. Its great to be back. Next project: YAME64 moving map to render on a 4th Display (Samsung Galaxy Tab A). However, one last problem to deal with. Upon C 9’s advice, I’ve been launching BMS with the “-window” extension added to my Falcon BMS .exe path. If I remove this extension and Launch BMS, I get a CTD. Running BMS in this windowed mode is a pain because I get the BMS Boarder and my Primary screen bleeds into my secondary display. Has anyone got some suggestions for a workaround.
In closing, I’ll make note of a forum member’s recent admonition: RTFM again, and again, and again……

Did you adjust the Main Window in Cockpit Display Extraction?

Another reason to favor torrents…. currently downloading install files for XPlane 11 and from what I can tell, I’m downloading from an “official” server. Speed? 1.1MBps at the best of times, but not very often. Most of the time it’s around 600-700kbps, which is pathetic as I can download stuff via torrent at 2-4MBps easily.

This is how your Main window should be set up:
Note that the Border option is un-ticked. Also, do you need to run the -window extension on the .exe path? Will it not work with the Cockpit Displays to External Windows option ticked?
Anyway, I thought you were going to reformat your system anyway?

ICE and Cloud 9:
Yep, I reformatted my (500Gb SSD) and (2Tb SATA) drives before a fresh installation of BMS U1. Although I know that I had the MAIN Cockpit Display Extraction Boarder Box unticked when I setup my extractions after reinstallation, I checked it again and noted that the boarder box was ticked. In any event -now corrected- no more boarder around my primary monitor - problem solved. However, as soon as I made this correction, my USB display # 3 copped out and I had to reload its display driver to remedy the situation. Man, I feel like I got Gremlins running around in my system that pop up whenever they get pissed that my rig is running as desired. I’ve yet to reinstall U2 & 3 but will do so in the next few.
Ever since I refocused my attention from XP11 on my civilian Flt sys to Falcon BMS on my other system, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time rebuilding my mil flt sys, troubleshooting and, tweeking this and that. As a result I haven’t had the chance to get back into the operational complexities (a perishable skill if you don’t stay on game) of flying the damn AC - never mind enjoying the immersion that BMS offers.
In respect to favoring Torrent. I’ve always used it as a more effective download media. So I get your lament about XP11 's time consuming DL process. However, I do think X-Plane utilizes a private server which attempts to deal with the Tracking problem associated with Torrent DL’s.
Again, thank you guys for your continued support and advice. Now, off to load U2 & 3 and, reach out to YAME64’s Roccio to learn how to migrate the moving map function to my Android Tab. Hopefully, at some point I’ll be flying some missions across BMS’s diverse Theaters.

ICE:
As an addendum, I do have Cockpit Displays to External Windows Ticked along with External Windows Always On Top ticked as well.

Hence the suggestion to nuke the thing from orbit!

Always on Top shouldn’t be needed… definitely not in my case as Helios has to be on top in order to present a better image.
-
Interesting. I’m not using Helios but am running BMS’s extraction for MFD’s and DED along with YAME’s gauges. By the way, YAME is the Jammy. At your suggestion I’ll untick always on top and check the results. Thanks for the advice. In a post nuke world, no fallout so far. Defies reason as I’m hanging in there with trepidation. Murphy’s Law - If it can, it will.
-
Are you running a secondary monitor? Might want to look at my Helios profile which includes a YAME layout.
-
Yep. I’m actually running three monitors (23" Curved Samsung, 19" ASUS Touchscreen and, 7" MIMO USB Touchscreen) hoping to add my Samsung Galaxy Tab A Android to the mix. While I’ve used your Helios Profile in the past, I’ll certainly take a look at your YAME inclusive profile. Note that before my blue screen debacle a couple of months ago I was using a mix of your and Gadroc’s profile and, BMS’ Extractions. At the end of the day its all about getting maximum functionality in an effort to come as close to reality as possible. In fact I’m searching for an ICP. If you have any recommendations, I’d appreciate the advice.
-
No need for any of those now. Just Helios for control and YAME for extractions; done. ICP is on Helios…. but I figure you’re having trouble using it on a small 19" screen. That’s why I moved up from a 22" to 24"…
-
Makes sense. What 24" TS monitor due you recommend?
-
I’m using an iiyama PL T2452MTS monitor.

Just wanted to give a heads up… I’ve updated my guide for BMS 4.33.3 on SimHQ and I’ve tried to make it as clear as possible.
Hope that helps!
