Please keep the version numbers as LOW as possible in the core DB. Select versions wisely. Don’t want to see the half list of a/c with tens of versions populating the DB like for the F-4.
Other versions can be added later in 3D party theater if needed.

Matter of governments. I would not know what to answer

This is why I chose :
→ A-4SU, Singapore, in use till 2011
→ A-4E, USN, Aggressor, in use till 1993
→ A-4PTM, Malaysia, in use till 1999
→ A-4N, Israel, in use till 2002→ A-4K, New-Zealand, is close from A-4PTM (for external model). I can make something. But I don’t know. I need to know if it’s a good idea.
→ A-4C/H/L, USA, Indonesia, are then not mandatory.
Dee-Jay, what do you think?
Honestly, I am not interested in civilian operated A-4. I will let people to their repaints if they want to later from A-4N or PTM/K.
For those who are interested, unwrapping has started!

Radium

Well … I think “nothing special” … as a team member I trust your choices. But six variants (talking about database entries, not talking about skin variants) is IMHO way enough (even a bit too much, four would be from my POV more reasonable). But concerning theaters using the core DB, my favorite choice among yours is : A-4E, USN, Aggressor & A-4N, Israel.
Not saying that, over A-4 I, would have preferred an C-17 or C-130 or IL76/78 or UH-1 … etc … as you know my personal POV is => refreshing older/ugly models existing in core database … But as you know also … I love all your models anyway …
Cheers my friend! (swimming pool today? :D)
EDIT:
as you know my personal POV is => refreshing older/ugly models existing in core database
… I mean : refreshing older/ugly models existing in core database … and intensively used in existing campaigns

No, swimming pool is closed today… Yesterday, I swam 2000m, I’d like to improve my time on that distance.
Well, for A-4, I focus on :
→ A-4SU, Singapore
→ A-4E, USN, Aggressor
→ A-4PTM, Malaysia
→ A-4N, Israel
→ A-4K New-ZealandAre you ok with it?
For other models, you’ll have a good surprise rather soon…
Cheers buddy,

A-4N were retired from active squadrons on 2002/3.
But remained in IAF as basic fighter training till 2015 when it was replaced by the M-346.In theory, aircraft performance is nearly identicle on all variants of the same “class”, i.e K/SU or M/N/AR. I would focus on these two only. Or maybe just compromise on one FM which we have the best data for.
The external differences on all the “humped” models are just antennas, which can be “ignored”. And then it’s just a few skins. NZ, Singapore, IAF, aggressors and maybe one.So it’s basically one aircraft with a few skins.

Well, I can’t “ignore”!
If I do a model, this must be done nicely.
A-4SU have different performance, as she uses F-404 engine… This aircraft has very unique flight dynamics!
-
So SU is unique. K/M/N/AR are the same.
Avionics is a whole different AR is similar to the F-16C with APG-66, while the A-4N has no radar. (It had one in the 80s which was removed in favor of a LST).
As I see it,
A-4 is a very niche plane as far as BMS is concerned. Two variants is more then enough. And compromising for simplicity is something which should be considered. You prefer A-4SU. No problem. Do that, model and FM. And we’ll just reuse that one for all the others too. Just a different skin. I don’t think it’s worth the “trouble”. -

Maintaining the DB up to date can be VERY time consuming … especially for 3rd party theater dev … the less varients in DB, the safer and the quicker updates are done.
Once again … it is all about consistent compromises. Compromises because it is not possible to easily do everything. Consistent because it has to be consistent with time area and geo location of existing available theaters.

Will make a lot of Kiwi’s happy, New zealand had squadrons of A-4K in NZ and Australia…

Singapore Malaysia and new Zealand have no theaters.

Keep the great job. -

Singapore and Malaysia are still in asia. If a war happened in the 90s between China, Russia, South Korea, North Korea and Japan, they would have been probably deployed somewhere there. For A-4K, well… I am still not convinced by it, but as it is very close from A-4PTM…
Any version you choose sound great to me, Radium.

ex-RNZAF A-4Ks (Draken International) are also being used at Red Flag and at NAS Fallon…… So the Nevada theater would work.
Also, let’s not forget Kuwaiti A-4s which fought in Desert Storm. Wasn’t there a Desert Storm theater at one stage? Or did that become payware?
-
As I know there are nor Nevada or Desert Storm Theaters for Falcon BMS released.
So my suggestion was - is that if in a released theater A4’s are used or could be used, to create such models and not models for theaters that might never be released.
Radium’s work is exceptional and I believe his time on creating them is highly valuable. Sure it’s his time and he can do whatever he wants and likes, there is no discussion on this. -

Hello,
Thank you for keeping your interest on my A-4 project.
I would like to thank people who are helping me on this project, Topolo, my great flight dynamics expert, Uri_ba for his help on ressources, Dee-jay, my great dataman fellow, PeCa_Chuck for his support on all my projects, and Switch for managing my model’s integration in the database.
I only work by pleasure, and I always do a model because I like it.
For versions, I tried to explain this before but I aimed to make asian birds. To me, KTO is only a pretext to integrate asian assets.
For Koweiti A-4, they are not on my todo list for now. I am sorry.
By the way, I almost finished multi version A-4 unwrapping phase. I also started DOFing it. Soon, I will post in-game pictures of her.
Kind regards,
Radium

Hello,
Some news there :
Unwrapping and DOFing are close to be completed.
Hope you’ll like it!
Best regards,

Hello,
For versions, I tried to explain this before but I aimed to make asian birds. To me, KTO is only a pretext to integrate asian assets. It’s certainly an interesting notion to include more assets of asian countries into KTO. If push comes to shove, it would not be far fetched to see Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia participating in a multi-national-intervention force in Korea.
And New Zealand is sort-of part of Asia

And of course Japan, who was totally forgotten for years in Falcon, although it is on KTO map…
For New Zealand… Do you realize that New Zealand to Fukuoka = Fukuoka to Wien? To me, considering that Japan is taken as an Asian country, but already closer for many things to Oceania, I suppose, taking New Zealand for Asia is a bit too much!
This is Japan :
Famous Poet Basho, wrote a famous haiku,「ああ松島や」litterally, Ah! Matsushima. I suppose, if he went to Okninawa, he would have wrote : 「ああ沖縄や」for Ah! Okinawa! (kinda way to tell your exaltation).
… at an amazing speed of work, Radium! http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f82/lazystone/Smileys/smiley-face-matrix-006.gif
