Is buying voice attack for BMS worth it?
-
Do you guys find it accurately records your voice? Does it actually make it more immersive? Or does it feel “artificial”?
-
What’s “artificial” is asking for a picture or requesting fuel via a few keypresses on a keyboard.
Take the time to train Windows voice recognition properly and spell things out phonetically when configuring VA and it’ll work fine. Just takes time to tweak it all to your liking.

I’m using Voice Attack and I’m pretty happy with it.
The reason why I don’t use the Windows voice recognition is that I want to use English commands. But my German Windows 7 Pro does not have the English language pack and will probably never get it. -

I have found VAC more reliable than VA but for the price and function of both software, I’d say I’d happily buy them again! I use VAC for BMS and have used VA on Elite Dangerous.

Totally happy with what Voice Attack allows me to do, practically speaking, talking to AI wingmen with a “2 fence in” or “Flight go wedge”. When recording videos, streaming or playing multi, I usually have time to say “Chalis 2, Falcon 1-1, declare contact bullseye 260 55 miles Angels 21”, so I say it for immersion of watchers/fellow users and press the keys.

I think I paid around $10 or so and it really adds to the immersion which is always a good thing.
All the best, Uwe

Thanks guys, I went ahead and got it.
Is there a way though to disable the radio menu that appears on the right side of the screen? Since voice attack really is just a “hotkey presser”, it still pops up the radio menus which is kinda annoying.

Hm, the menus pop up momentarly on my end as well, but not long enough to concern me… are you using a profile for BMS or are you starting out fresh?

Partly. In BMS 2D setup, you have a shortcuts list as you might now. You can attribute shortcuts to a number of radio comm, then use VA to enable them as direct key shortcuts.

VA is a great help - I never use the keyboard from getting in to the game to leaving it … brilliant !!
Buy it and you can import profiles with unlimited call back functionality - the free version only has limited number of call backs.
If nothing else talking to the WACS/tower/tanker/wing/element and flight are so much easier … its not very expensive so do it !!!
-
+1…being using it for years. Once I am airborne, the keyboard is never touched other than the tablet for MFDs and ICP.

There is a member in this forum that developed an app for voice commands, sorry i dont remember thr callsign or thr app name now. It must be on my hotlist. Dont know which is better but he was building it for BMS mostly and many members contributed with input and beta testing…

I use Keyspeech. It is great because you can have multiple DX commands.
-
There is Keyspeech and also Livrot’s LMC.
To those that have been using VAC/VA/etc. for some time now…. do you say your commands somewhat as they appear on the comms menu or have you gotten to a more “realistic” way of saying your commands? As Leorik mentioned above, there’s the “immersive” callout and there’s the “simple” callout… I’d love to be able to make an “immersive” callout and get reliable results…

QNH - “request pressure” - getting it recognise “Q”“N”“H” was a bloody pain to be honest
Flight commands - “everyone”
“Quick time” = X4
“Slow time” = normal time
“Mud Lock”
“Sky lock”
“Norm view”
“Sat View”
I thought about “top her off joe” for hot pit refuel but “hot pit refuel” works just fine
You can say anything you want so long as you associate it with the correct key combinations ;0) Voice Attack is very flexible that way.

Agreed, Ironman. I also have set up the wingman commands with “Two,…” I’ve also taken to saying, for ex. “Chalis One, Sting One One” wait a second, then “request picture”. Way better then typing Q 1.
Chaos, I’ve only recently starting using voice commands(I use VAC) and it is definitely immersive. In fact, for for it has opened up a whole new level of enjoyment for me. -
The tanker commands are just great mine are
“Tanker ready”
“Tanker Fuel”
“Tanker Done”Also when leaving the mission
“Quit Mission”
“End Mission”
“Discard Mission”
“Pause”
“Freeze”The possibilities are both endless and very helpful - especially the tanker calls - and more immersive - I use “Two” for Wingman, as you do, “3and4” for element and “every on” for flight commands.
I think once you have tried it you would never go back to the key board !!! and its very good value for money !!! what’s not to like ;0)
