How do you obtain a older version manual
-
Hi all,
I’m newbie starting out on ver 4.35.I’m trying to find more information on DX programing for reprogramming a saitek x55 POV hat from trim to out the window and cockpit views. I can’t afford a Track IR at the moment. I would like to edit one of the exisitng x-55 dx setups in the doc folder. (I have been drinking from the firehose of manuals in 4.35 docs folders, lots of jumping around on dx info in bms device , tech and input device manuals).
There has been some mention to refer to “bms keyfile manual ver 4.33” in the forums.
How can you obtain older version manuals without having to install the older bms version ?
Is the 4.35" bms key file editor" manual the same manual as 4.33 "bms keyfile manual just a different titling? I’m hoping there some tidbits of info in the older manuals.
If you use advanced launcher app for dx, do you lose the ability to use the bms keyfile profiles?
Thanks and I do appreciate all the work that went into this program -
Hello Sid9001,
AFAIK no manuals have disappeared during new releases unless it was obsolete, and that’s definitely not the case with the keyfile manual (unless it’s been merged with the BMS technical manual itself, check section 2-11 for details explaining how to set up your HOTAS).
You can build a head tracking solution yourself using $10 worth of materials, an old webcam (ps/eye is a good choice) and free and open source software (OpenTrack, FaceTrackNOIR) that’s at least as good or even better materials wise than the hopelessy overpriced TrackIR. Or you can get a complete solution that works OOTB for around 50 quid (check the net for “delanclip”) from Tomasz at Delanengineering.com.
All the best, Uwe

Just wanted to add, there is the alternative edtracker, with parts bought from ebay for around $14 if you like to solder around yourself, some open source software and thats it. No need for webcam.
