ReShade Preset

Planehazza,
thanks a lot, as first, for sharing your profile, I’m going to test it and I’ll let you know further… but please forgive me for this noob’s question, I’m not so skilled as you are instead: where should I put that file, after renaming it?
That’s just to avoid bad mistakes, nothing else. Thanks for your attention, and with best regards,

Now that’s a good question, ha. I think you just need to install Reshade 3.x from reshade.me and drop my ini in there; ie it’s the same as you would as if you were making one. This is my first time actually creating one, and I’m used to just dropping files in from other mods, so apologies for not being up to speed yet.
I’d just download ReShade from https://reshade.me/, then point it to the game’s executable, then drop in my preset. In the game, press Shift-F2, and I assume my preset (FalconBMS.ini) will be there. Select it, and you can use a hot key to toggle the effects on and off. Currently, I’m using F7, as I know that shortcut won’t affect the game. Shift F2, however, will interact with the cockpit so you may need to find a new, free keystroke to toggle the Reshade menu on and off.
EDIT: How to added to OP

I’ve submitted it to Reshade Preset collection page: https://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/6772/

Thanks @Planehazza for information about Reshade.
It uses same shader suits with sweetFX. Also Reshade has a configuration interface. So it is different from Sweetfx. Therefore its come be usefull.

I’m using Reshade 2.0.3. W/ Sweetfx 2.0 This is Reshade & Sweetfx http://www.mediafire.com/file/oysrpy028jaicm3/ReShade_2.0.3_with_SweetFX_2.0.rar

I tried what was exlained in post #1. What an annoying “junk”. Loading times… this and that, honestly.
Try GemFx. It is “on the fly”.
PS: Don´t forget to disable:
- Glass Environment Mapping
- HDR Lightning
- Jet Heat Exhaust
- Motion Blur
- Water Normal Mapping
- Water Environment Mapping
- Cloud Reflections
- Focus Object Reflections
first the initial test and setup.

I’m no graphics expert and don’t claim to be. I just got to what I though looked good.
All the tweaks I did were on the fly also.

Hmmm, you can save few seconds if you turn off ‘effect tweak mode’ (more in readme) for ReShade3 , that is when you’re done tweaking.
But still , 5Mb (reshade) || 300Mb (gemfx) for almost same results…Tried reshade few times …. Fxaa could be better - some jaggies on max, SSAO too big impact … still, some less then 4xMSAA .
Otoh, can’t be used with YAMEx64 … same d3d9.dll style injector … so I quit , YAME preffered … Don’t need so much candy’s in oppose to instruments in simulation … Is no good for teeth

Well that’s the caveat, and why I don’t expect my Reshade to get much use. I tried YAME64 and loved it, but I found it unstable I currently don’t have any extra screens so I have no need for display extraction. Reshade (IIRC) combines all the collections of SweetFX, GemFX etc under one easy to use real time tweak tool. My preset is saved in ‘performance mode’ which is as you’re describing above.
I’ve never been a fan of FXAA - it’s not a true AA and all it does it analyse the end image and blur hard lines. This is why it costs so little, but people often report that the screen is too unsharp or blurry with it on. I’m using in game MSAA on max and it looks great, but I might try disabling that and messing on with different anti aliasing methods in nvidia CP or inspector.

Quick question; For whatever reason, my reshade isn’t changing the tweaked fx settings after applying the preset file.
For example [FakeHDR.fx] is shown to be HDRPower=1.100000 radius1=0.950000 radius2=0.930000 inside the text file, but when I look at the shift+F2 setting ingame, It is 1.300, 0.793, 0.870(which is a default setting).
Any help?

Been a while since I’ve done any tweaking myself, but the preset file is essentially just a text file. You can always manually type the values into your preset and see if that applies then?
