1. What hardware do you have?
Logitech Extreme 3d Pro. TrackIR 5. Computer stats: http://www.krauselabs.net/dump/dxdiag.txt2. Can I have your TrackIR profile?
Sure but I can’t guarantee it’s any good. Use at your own risk, I don’t claim to be an expert with TIR. http://www.krauselabs.net/dump/krauseTIR.xml3. How do you make these videos? FRAPS at 1680 x 1050, I use a usb mic input for my voice. I edit the videos in Adobe Premier and export as 1080 p HD WMV 25. I sometimes use Photoshop to mess with the images. I used"Monitor Aero Desktop" feature of FRAPS to record my Windows display in the ILS video. If I have to do any audio editing I use Audacity.
4. How do I download your videos?
I’m not offering direct download links to the videos because i’m lazy. That being said, you can directly download them effortlessly off YouTube if you use DownloadHelper.5. How can I play with you?
I am part of an open Arma 2 community called United Operations - we have a virtual squadron called United Operations Air Force (UOAF) which is attached to it. Anyone can join up, we have scheduled games every weekend and those who hang around on TeamSpeak usually play pick up games throughout the week. We average 8-15 players on weekends and 2-6 players for pickup games.UOAF:

6. How do you zoom in your view like that?
In the advanced controls settings you will see an option called “z-axis” for TrackIR. Set it to Vector Control. Now you can zoom in your view by moving your head forward.7. Where can I get a data cartridge (DTC)?
http://www.krauselabs.net/dump/dtc.iniSave the above to C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config
Rename it to yourCallSign.ini
If you click the link and it doesn’t ask you to download, but instead just displays a bunch of text, just do file, save as on Internet Explorer or firefox, save page as in Firefox.

Thank you very much for this! It’s greatly appreciated!
EDIT : Just 5 mins in and you’ve already taught me something new!
-
Awesome. Thank you!
-
Very cool. You have a good voice that is easy to listen to and not boring. It managed to keep me interested in watching even though I already knew like 95% of the stuff. I know it is outside of the scope of this video, but when you were talking about AMRAAMs and the carret and the range brackets, there were symbols 30° and 7F next to the indexer. What do those stand for?
-
Wow, thank you very much. I raise Syoncos 5 minutes with my 3:26! Great to know what those numbers on the right side are all about.
Keep up the good work
-
Thanks man!
-
I dont think u really kno what u have done! You have spoiled all of us now. Great tutorial! Any chance we can get an ILS training?
-
Nice tut, thanks
-
Great tutorial! It was really useful.
Thanks a lot and keep them coming if possible!
-
Nice. You have a clear voice. Please render or convert your video into youtube standard sizes. Black bars on the two sides of the video don’t look good.
-
Keep them coming! Still have to RTFM, but at least now I’ve got the basics of the JHMCS going, so thanks!

This is so great! It´s very well structured and informative. You explain every little detail, backed up by solid knowledge on how it works out in practical usage. Don´t worry about thinking that this might be too deep for beginners, cause the great thing about those videos is that you can always pause or rewatch em and doing some google search in the meantime if some term is unclear.
The other thing that is awesome about your structure is that you focus on one single piece of equipment at a time but don´t miss to refer to others if they are crucially linked, like for example using the FCR in combination with the HUD symbology, or the dogfight mode in combination with the capabilities of the AIM-9.I´m off now to try lots of things out which I´ve learned just now. Maybe this will give me the final push to jump from rookie to veteran ha!

Does that really matter? I doubt anyone even notices this, who’s looking for the core info of the video. And that message delivers, no matter how many black bars.

+1
Thank you for great tutorial. Looking forward to another one about Air to Ground weapons. Keep up the good work !!! -
Well done.

Sorry. I am a perfectionist.
In this case pls. just think about a minute which is better for showing with bigger resoultion the instruments and MFD…
Nothing is wrong with the videos, what is you called “perfectionism” is not as you think… -

The degrees is for lofting the AMRAAM.
The number under that with the letter is a time to impact, go semi-active (“pitbull”) or interception, based on range. For more on this check out page 77 in the BMS manual.
To everyone else:
Glad the video has been helpful, i’m planning to produce one a day until i’m satisfied to have covered everything.
