Waste of time

Actually I find dcs controller setup a major pita.
Regardless another victim of bms vetting…thow are not worthy OP.
-
And confirmation that having an updated range of ready-made HOTAS config setups in the next version will help flatten the learning curve for those with limited time, or attention spans
Yep, but
my Thrustmaster t-1600, WCS, and peddles,
taking into account all possibilities will not be practical
knowing your hardware is the primary step to any flight sim use gents, if you can’t manage your own controller how can you expect to manage the flight sim itself?

Absolutely, though having a basic setup does help speed up the process and give you something to build on. I certainly found Dunc’s setup gave me a great platform to get to grips with the basics, understand what was important and then I was clear on what I wanted to change.
I agree that’s the best we can offer, as there are so many different combinations of controllers, as you pointed out, that sooner or later new users are going to have to customise things for themselves to get the most from their setup.

Let me see…guy is upset because it took him 4 hours to figure out his controller setup? Lol, wait until he starts reading the manuals! He obviously isn’t ready for a “study” sim.

Correct and I’m guessing his dcs experience is with the shallow end of the pool with the FC jets.
Also entertaining he tried a mission before learning to actually fly the jet.

Come on lets see it from Gravy’s side - when your only 11 years old 4 hours is a long time !!!

target sucks donkey ****. thread/

OP that attitude will get you nowhere but outside of the fora. Luckily our members are nice enough to want to help you even though your first post was a rant and not a nice post about asking for help.
Actually the whole thread is a rant, for the most part.
Immaturity is only cured by mature example.
I have tried to limit my tendency to take cheap shots. ( except for this one)
PS: I have been trying to fly some of the FC3 “dumbed down” aircraft and it has annoyed the shit out of me. To the point of rage quitting flights with my friends.
Have I been spoiled by the simplicity of driving an F-16 ?
I’m going back to relearn the Black Shark & wait for the F-18c me thinks.
-
I learned DCS black shark. I flew a few missions and wished I could put it in EECH. Now it has been collecting dust ever since then. And I just fly EECH.
Can someone point me to the "target " program mentioned?
I don’t know of it yet, or even what it does, but I am still curious. -
It is used with Thrust Master Hardware.
So probably not for you.

I think sir “gravy” won’t come back here but I would like to ask him why he went TARGET first before try looking at BMS UI -> SETUP -> CONTROL PAGE just as same as he may do when starting a new module for DCS. Or did he?
Or, maybe he also uses TARGET when playing DCS? But he is claiming DCS so much easier to use. I assume he is using DCS UI when he set up for DCS.
What made him quitting setup from BMS UI and try TARGET?
1. Maybe because BMS UI won’t let you assign POV switches for throttle device?
2. Maybe because BMS UI won’t let you assign modifier button like DCS does? (Actually, BMS does but not from UI…)They are critical for reasonable HOTAS owners as they do not have enough numbers of DX to set full F-16 HOTAS.
-
TARGET has only three major drawbacks to me:
1. GUI is an abomination. Script editor 4 lyfe.
2. Problematic device management issues.
3. Limited to one virtual device. (CH allows 4) -
Ain’t a member here build an app for stick and other things for BMS which makes it trouble free?
But in the other hand we have 4 external apps (at least) to handle BMS things cause the UI doesn’t or is not that good.
We can’t expect a newb to know and master all from day one.
On the other hand as expected can be a pita for an eager to shoot and kill top gun youngster.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

It should take newbies and squash them flat …mission accomplished.

Link Removed as per rule 14and if you need a virtual clone drive… or you can just unzip EXE for eech and run it i think.
Link Removed as per rule 14This sim has a nice Dynamic campaign, check out EECH central webpage to see if you like it. If it is the case that you like it I have more Info, I posted for Metalhead, the guy that made our f22.

I wouldnt say PITA but clearly limited in the UI (a bit like BMS :p). With the exception of the A-10C where all calbacks, etc. are tailor-made for the Warthog, but as soon as you are on something else, you have to adapt and cant do all of what you want to do.
I havent read all the keyfile editing stuff though.

@Red:
Another proof that the main issue for newbies is not bms but the understanding of their own controller setup
It was mine for sure!
