Update 5 High Speed Issue
-
I have constant 60 FPS so that’s not fps related.
If that would be the case I would encounter that kind of bug in U4, U3, U2.
The only reason why you don’t have too many reports on that is because this community has a few dogfighters and there is only one way to get to that speed - zero loadout.
Afaik there is no way to check the weather in DF mode, but I did another test after restart in TE mode - same result with default weather.
It is fps related
Go to 30 fps you won’t have it
There is a trick in the code to avoid this situation but apparently it does not work on all CPU
This is why if I don’t have much reports I won’t touch it for one specific case
I can’t repro it on my rig
No changes at all since 4.32 here and certainly not for U5 !

It seems you need to downgrade your hardware.

Not necessarily , could be that compiler changed something in the optimization of the exe
-
I have observed that in the U3 when I changed to a very fast PC (>50FPS with all settings maximized).
Never observed before on my older machine (running always at 20-30fps).
The fluttering is highly reproduceable and always happens above 600-650knots IAS.EDIT: more info….it is independent of weather and payload settings. And, surprisingly for me, its onset is on the same IAS region. Not GS or TAS! I would expect that it should happen on the same GS/TAS range since it is this rate dx/dt that updates the x position in the numerical integration.
This is not related to anything physics , this is algorythm convergence issue at high speed and high fps
I may have to improve the scaling of the algo here
Btw fluttering does not happens at same speed , depends on speed , altitude and payload
Please read flutter article available on the website

@NIL:
Same here, never seen this before. Sure some flutter sometimes, but not to this extend… Shaken but not stirred!
+1

Define speed. IAS, GS, TAS, CAS? The wing rocking out of control bug (is this what you call fluttering?) that the video shows ALWAYS starts between 600-650knots IAS on my PC. Independent of the altitude. That is a fact and I can try to make a video on the weekend if you don´t believe(!).

These are not bug reports, these are confirmations of people that they “have never seen this before” (NIL) and people confirming that in their quotes. Please take some time and read their replies carefully before making claims or trying to stir up trouble.

Relax I’m not trying to stir up trouble, just misunderstood NIL post. My bad.

Can you post you spec, so we can get a general idea which cpu got affected?

i7-7740X 4.3GHz running with W10 Enterprise -64 - 32Gb Ram
A full bug report will follow form my end, since JP seems to not be able to reproduce the bug. -

Your “bug report” never mentioned that it was in DF module. And without info, it is hard to provide support.
Fact is: It is not a new issue, it is just the 1st time you experience it.
You’re right, no way to change weather in DF module. -
[
i added intuitively a little bit of dead-zone on the pedals (countering non-conscious jaw inputs by legs…inducing ?? jaw-oscilations - as back-thought) … but not sure, if THAT fixed it](
)PS: happened several times over the years, but only low as far as i remember (ground effect related?)
Edit: nvm… i just read post #11. Thanks Mav-Jp

@A.S:
PS: happened several times over the years, but only low as far as i remember (ground effect related?)
… according to my experience (see it with Jp during 4.34 dev …) it is rather “mech turbulence” rather than “ground effect”.
-
If it helps, I have this behaviour too. I was able to reproduce it several times in “Furball” or the quick mission (Not TE, I never fly with 800 knots there).

You’re right, no way to change weather in DF module.FYI this bug exist in all 3 modules (Campaign, TE, Dogfight).
Dogfight module is just the quickest way to test it.My spec:
GeForce GTX 970
Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16 GB RAM
Win-10 -
Guys
This is NOT a new bugKnown issue for a long time now
Difficult to solve easily since Rig related
The higher the fps the more likely you will get it at very high speed
You can install any update you will reproduce it

It doesn’t make any sense - if this bug is Rig related then I could have seen that bug in U4.
Since I didn’t upgrade my PC everything should remain as it used to be, right? We test it again with Grooz and Ali.
They both report the same bug. -
WTF???

Oh Kurwa Oh Kurwa hahahahahahaha
