Falcon BMS wont recognize Helios
-
Hello fellow air jockeys. I’ve got some problems with heilos and falcon bms and perhaps you fine gentlemen can help me.
I recently bought a 21in touch screen monitor and have been trying to set it up with helios and falcon for the past couple of days but to no avail.
I can program everything in helios via keystrokes and or callbacks just fine. My problem is that falcon will not respond or recognize anything from helios. Something is blocking it.
I have tested this out by opening notepad and pressing a button on helios. Key’s show up just fine through helios and notepad they just wont get through to Falcon.Perhaps theres a setting somewhere in bms config file that im missing, I’ve tried enableexclusivemouse, external mouse look and clickable 3d cockpit but nothing works, Falcon is blocking everything.
Any idea’s on what this could be? any help is appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Have you got the falcon bms keyfile location properly set in Helios ?

Have you got the falcon bms location properly set in Helios ?
I have not seen an option to set BMS location. Pehaps you mean the interface tab where i select my keyfile. In that case yes
To further elaborate Helios will pick up on button states. I.E master cation panel will light up under helios but falcon will not pick up on the button being pushed.
Makes me believe that this is a windows issue somewhere. The question is what in windows would cause this to happen ?

SOLVED::
After deleting several develepment kits, programing software and games it works, Something somewhere was conflicting with falcon callbacks,
Why is it always something stupid after days of troubleshooting ?!?!?

I’m having the exact issue. Might reinstall Windows 10 . . .

Curious if you anyone can provide details to the problem solved above. I’ve recently installed BMS after taking a couple years off (first install on a new rig), along with helios, YAME, TARGET script Editor. I’m using ICE’s helios profile and keyfile with trackIR. I’ve confirmed the keyfile is selected in the helios profile editor and BMS 4.3.2 is my selected interface. I’m getting master cautions and warning lights in helios, but when I flip a switch it is not registered in BMS. Possibly related, but unlikely, is that extracted gages/MFDs from YAME are not updated with sim data (e.g., RPM remains at 0% during/after engine start, along with all other parameters, no extraction of MFDs…). I feel like this is all related to windows 10, but if anyone else has worked through this I’d really appreciate some assistance. Worth noting, I’m running everything as administrator. Thanks in advance!

So, this happens at work, too. Fight fight fight the computer. Give up and call IT support. Before they show up all the gremlins go away and everything works fine. IT thinks I’m crazy. After two days of fighting BMS and helios, I made the above post and on my very next attempt, everything worked fine. I’ll take it, but I don’t understand it. I wish I could tell the next guy with this problem what I did - other than call for help and scare the gremlins.

I’ve got a similar issue if anyone can help before I reset windows 10. Upon launching Helios for the first time is several months, everything looks good to go but when I run the profile nothing happens. The Control Panel says the profile is running but it does not show on the second monitor. I’ve uninstalled and re-installed Helios, changed monitor config by using my graphics card for the second monitor instead of my onboard graphics which is how I usually run it all to no avail. Another thing I noticed is if I change resolution and then open up Control Panel before resetting monitors in Profile Editor it doesn’t give me an error which it should. It acts as if it’s running the profile…… ??? It’s like the program is for Demo purposes without being in control of my displays… WTF?

For some unknown reason it decided to work again…. No clue why.
