Bms launches in low resolution (not menu)

Same problem here. Think i found a solution. Try this. Right click Falcon BMS sortcut, select properties, then compatibility tab and then check Disable full screen optimizations. Then click OK and run Falcon BMS. Let me know if this worked for you.
Hello Clio, this worked beautifully for me, albeit with a twist. When I launched the game with full screen optimizations disabled, I was unable to click onto the “Commit” switch in the Campaign menu. The solution was for me to run Falcon BMS with compatibility mode for Windows 8 activated and full screen optimizations disabled.
All the best,
GianniDona.

The problem is caused by the last windows update, in my case, I run the game in windows mode to fix the problem (I run it on VR so I don’t care fo the monitor).

Another “zombie” here :dhorse:
None of the solutions worked … to rest for a while I must
But I thank you nevertheless -
Thank You clio16v.
After the last update of Windows 10, the graphics in BMS got poor, even if right graphics card an resolution was set correct up. Your advise was the one i needed… -

Try the windowed mode using the Cockpit Extractor.

Nice, it worked like a charm. Last time flied before the 1803 windows update and today had a little surprise to see this terrible resolution.

This issue… Ticking the box does nothing as deleting nvdisp file… Lost. What drivers this supposed to work with? THanks

I had same problem but think it worked after I clicked ‘apply to all users’ in properties .

Done that. No help. Especially with yame64 in the mix.
So, i reverted the 1803 back (there’s actually an option for that) to pre-update state and lo and behold, everything works again… Flippin’ ms… -

Btw, just to be clear - you changing the property of the Launcher.exe (in case you follow instr. to the letter - ‘shortcut’)? Of falconbms.exe? I did both and in all combos btw, no help for me.

So here’s a funny one. Last few days I had BMS installed on my boot drive SSD. (oversight when first installing) after realising the size of it I finally got round to uninstalling and reinstalling on my larger gaming SSD.
The compatibility trick worked on the previous installation, but not on the new one today. I tried the Disable Optimization method, it sorts out the resolution, but stutters and crashes…Ive had to resort to windowed mode.

Roll back to 1709 via ‘updates->recovery->roll back’. Solves a lot. There’s a funny looking questionnaire and finally ‘Thank you for TESTING’ banner! They’ve got to be taking a mickey…

I did this too and yes it worked. Although I kinda got used to the smaller, sharper launch screen and mission maps!
After the roll back I had do re install all the programs I had installed post update which I thought was strange but not too much bother, it was only BMS (again!) and the TARGET software for my HOTAS. And strangely, it now starts up three times quicker.MS did a proper job with that update. Automatic updates have now been switched off too.

Thank you for the fix. I hate windows updates.

Same issue and no sound. Glad I only wasted $7 on Falcon 4.0
