Buzzz's new Mirage 2000

buzz you might want to change a pouilleme of the front gear parameters in the AFM file (or play with GFX , up to you )

I know what you mean JP. The problem is that the runway model is a little offset. If I move the model up, the shadow is disconnected from the model and the model looks like it floats above the runway. So I preferred to have the whole model sink a little bit (the main gear is sunk too but due to the bigger wheels, you donât notice it). If the runway displays correctly, there wonât be a problem. The wheel are exactly where they should be in the AFM file.

In a future release, would it be possible to developp Mirage 2000 entries in DB ?
- rename âMirage 2000 EGM HAFâ as âMirage 2000 EGM5-MMâ
- add âMirage 2000 BGM5-MMâ
- add âMirage 2000-9â entry
- add âMirage 2000 EGM & BGMâ entry
- add RDM-3 radar
- add RDY-2 radar
- and some loadout fix accordingly to the 2000 versions
?

The -5 in HAF is better referenced as Mirage 2000-5 EGM Mk2 and BMG for the double seater.
Thanks

Couby,
Iâm affraid adding new variant for aircrafts outside Koreaâs scene is not a priority in the team.
-
/me sez half of the s.itty phantom models could be killed for sake of having these.
of course then the borean old a/c theater campaigns would have to be taken care of, but who cares as long as itâs not on me⌠

AFAIK max DB letters for an object is 13 characters. so these names are too long.

Does it need to be a priority for the team to be done ?
Even if it is not for next release but for next, or next next one⌠-

I donât really care how it is described in DB⌠In BMS UI I can read âMirage 2000EGM HAFâ, thatâs more than 13 characters⌠And if necessary we can contract âMirage 2000â in âM2kââŚ

Whatever you want :).
Provided we could improve available M2ks and their loadouts, that would be cool :). -
super!
Quick question. Iâve asked it before and didnât get an answer. Is there a drift/co switch in the Mirage cockpits? canât find one in the pdf docs.

Any news with the new Mirage model?
-
Iâm no Mirage expert but I donât recall delta wings having flaps, will that be fixed for final release (if it is a bug at all)?
The model looks insane, canât wait to give it a go on the new pc iâm gonna build!
-
The Mirage uses Elevons which is a combination of Ailerons and flaps. They have a pair in each wing, the inner and outer elevons. So itâs not a bug, donât worry

Just trying to be constructive here so please donât take this the wrong way.
Itâs common knowledge that delta wings donât use flaps. Itâs also quite logical and straightforward 'cause if they were using flaps, then the airplane would pitch down, and without another set of control surfaces to keep the nose up (as it happens in any non delta wing config), it would crash into the runway.
I know for a fact the Mirage III didnât have any flaps, and the EF-2000 doesnât use flaps either.
I havenât seen any pictures of a Mirage-2000 taking off with flaps down either -
Unfortunately, this is due to the FLCS code that is inherited from F-16 logic. I will try to find a work-around.

some thoughts to shareâŚ
-
drop down TEF - AFAIK when hydro power down, it drops. when power up it resumes neutral position.
-
to simulate this with existing switch/DOF on 3d model, you can use nesting DOF/Xswitch.
one Xswitch-5(canopy) contains all TEF parts as XDOF30,
when canopy open, the TEF switches to this Xswitch on and drop down to fixed angle.one Xswitch-5(canopy) cantains TEFs and all its normal XDOF/differential ailerons.
when canopy close, switch to this Xswitch, and act as normal TEF/ailerons. -

IMHO, itâs simpler and more realistic to link it to the RPM DOF : DOF 48
I have to find a way. -
