Which Hotas do you use for BMS
-
I use a Warthog stick in combination with a couple different variations of Cougar TQS - one with a TUSBA R2, and one converted with a Bodnar BU0836A USB board. I also have an FCC3 that I will eventually use with a Warthog grip in my cockpit.
Its the grip of warthog combatible with cougar base? I’m wondering cause i might change it if it is…

Yes it is compatible, but the CMS press in that is available on the Warthog (base) will not work; only the usual up/down/left/right that the Cougar supports.

By mistake voted “other”, but I use X65F, so -1 for “other”. Though I think, that my next one will be from virpil or VKB.

I voted other…but i have virpil base + warthog stick an warthog throttle…
This poll make me think of one thing…its coming [emoji23] -
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro + Thrustmaster TWCS throttle

Hi guys, not sure how to vote on this one. I’ve been using the Warthog stick and Cougar throttle (not as stand alone USB via TUSBA). Its working but having quite a bit of a hard time perfecting programming so finsing this thread is a goldmine. My scenario is as follows:
Hi guys, I have the Hotas Cougar and I use it in BMS Falcon and it still works great. Up til now, I’d been using it for DCS A-10C, but didn’t like the button assignments and wanted something more authentic. As such, I picked up the Hotas Warthog. I noticed that the joystick is virtually identical to the F-16 stick. As such, I’d like to retire the Cougar stick and just use its throttle with the Warthog stick when flying BMS and the Warthog stick/Warthog throttle with DCS. I’ve got the Wheel Stand Pro so switching is a breeze. When I go F-16 I just swap the Warthog stick from the center spot, and place it on the right hand side where it would be on that aircraft. The problem that I have is I have to have the Cougar stick base plugged in in order to use the Cougar throttle with the Warthog stick. Right now, I’ve got the Cougar stick hidden under the desk but I’d like to make this neater and be able to completely disconnect from usb(and Cougar) and switch out the Wheel Stand Pro attachment when going back to DCS. The second issue I have is programming using the two different softwares(Foxy and Target) and have them play nicely together. I looked at programming BMS to use the Warthog stick for TMS, DMS and CMS and Cougar throttle for everything else but it seems that BMS only allows one Joystick or the other to be selected. Wondering if I get the Cougar throttle usb coverter device if that will solve the problem since BMS would then see the Cougar throttle as a sperate input device( instead of as another joystick). Also, programming without Foxy seems to be very challenging(e.g., microstick). Curious if anyone out there is successfully doing what I am attempting here. -

Hey, Are you changing “Primary device”?
If then, you have to keep selecting Warthog Stick and assign keys for both Warthog and Cougar.
BMS allows multiple joystick. -

BMS allows multiple joystick.Yes, I am selecting Warthog as the primary. I had been using Dunc’ Foxy Hotas Cougar profile for the Cougar. Then, within BMS selecting the Warthog as primary and setting up the stick. Do you have a better suggestion? Should I be assigning everything in BMS and erasing the foxy profile? Is there a keyfile that someone has that has all of the F-16 stuff assigned for both the Cougar and Warthog stick?
-
I guess because both profiles work only when COUGAR/WARTHOG is selected as a primary device, two profiles does not work at the same time.
I recommend assigning everything in BMS. Or make your own profile. -
I use TM Cougar

FCW3 (Warthog Base) with Warthog Stick and Cougar Throttle with TUSBA 1
Works great. -
VPC MongoosT-50 Base + Cougar grip, Cougar Throttle with mmjoy2
-
I use the TM COUGAR
-
I am using X65. I like it.
-
switching to Vrpil throttle quadrant atm. 5 profiles and very nice layout. really like the x56 one too. I guess I’m a collector.
-
TM Cougar. Have two, one is titanium Evenstrain and one is Ian’s Uber 2 NXT.
I prefer the Evenstrain.
-
I’ve got a FSSB R3 and TUSBA.
The FSSB acts like a warthog, so super easy to configure. The TUSBA is unique, but the preset in the key file editor packaged with 4.33 makes setup quite easy.
All I would ask is that mixing and matching be allowed. Not everyone uses a full HOTAS from the same manufacturer.

Nobody say you can’t
It’s just that for the purpose of this poll, the mixing is considered apart because of you are able to mix Hotas, chances are that you know how your system works and won’t need much help to set it up for BMS useIt’s already hard enough to plan for many genuine stick configs - if we have to account for all possible configuration, that will make it overly complicated for newbees, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid…
By nature it is already complicated for them. -
Cougar of course simple no mods or anything (yet!)! Couple of years ago found one used in very good condition for about 150 euros so i grab it till then i had a Hotas-X
