Which Hotas do you use for BMS
-
FCW3 (Warthog Base) with Warthog Stick and Cougar Throttle with TUSBA 1
Works great. -
VPC MongoosT-50 Base + Cougar grip, Cougar Throttle with mmjoy2
-
I use the TM COUGAR
-
I am using X65. I like it.
-
switching to Vrpil throttle quadrant atm. 5 profiles and very nice layout. really like the x56 one too. I guess I’m a collector.
-
TM Cougar. Have two, one is titanium Evenstrain and one is Ian’s Uber 2 NXT.
I prefer the Evenstrain.
-
I’ve got a FSSB R3 and TUSBA.
The FSSB acts like a warthog, so super easy to configure. The TUSBA is unique, but the preset in the key file editor packaged with 4.33 makes setup quite easy.
All I would ask is that mixing and matching be allowed. Not everyone uses a full HOTAS from the same manufacturer.

Nobody say you can’t
It’s just that for the purpose of this poll, the mixing is considered apart because of you are able to mix Hotas, chances are that you know how your system works and won’t need much help to set it up for BMS useIt’s already hard enough to plan for many genuine stick configs - if we have to account for all possible configuration, that will make it overly complicated for newbees, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid…
By nature it is already complicated for them. -
Cougar of course simple no mods or anything (yet!)! Couple of years ago found one used in very good condition for about 150 euros so i grab it till then i had a Hotas-X

If it remembers joystick setup per device, We don’t have to prepare stock setups for possible device combinations but only for possible devices. BMS does not but Alternative Launcher does that… Oh wait I got an idea for the next update of Alternative Launcher. Maybe in 3-4weeks…

I hesitated to propose that…
Would you consider add profiles to Alternative Launcher that will include:
- <nickname>.ini
- axismapping.dat
- joystick.cal
- windowconfig.dat
That way you can have specific device(s) with specific DTC configuration per profile.
For example:
- for A-10A I am using my DIY joystick with TM Warthog throttle with A-10A DTC,
- for F/A-18C I am using my DIY joystick with TM Warthog throttle with F/A-18C DTC (-> going to migrate to my DIY throttle),
- for A/V-8B I am using my DIY joystick with TM Cougar throttle with A/V-8B DTC (-> going to migrate to my DIY throttle),
- for F-16C I am using TM Warthog stick with TM Cougar throttle with F-16C DTC ( -> going to migrate to TM Cougar stick with LCFS mod).</nickname>

Thank you for the idea, can’t promise but I might try.
For further discussion, let’s talk at Alternative Launcher Thread. -
Yo! I mix on the X52 Pro with the latest Logitech USB3 drivers, the “Flounder X52 Pro v5 - Full” profile and I’m very happy … - I often end up like IKAR hehehe eeeee …!
-
I started as a TM Cougar user, then went the FSSB/TUSBA route.
-
Warthog with virpil warbrd base
-
My point was that it would be nice to consider the stick and throttle separate devices, rather than one complete HOTAS. So if you could select, for example, a warthog stick and an X56 throttle, it could make the system more flexible without (hopefully)introducing much in the way of added complexity.
But I do agree, simplicity for new users trumps convenience for power users. If what I ask can’t be accomplished without adding a bunch of complexity, then it’s not worth it.
As long as we maintain the ability to customize callbacks to our controls, us power users with ten devices and a touch screen will be happy

It’s striclty from a documentation point of view, we’re not changing anything in the possibilities to interface with the sim, at all.
I am of of these guys as well -
I mix and match without any issues…
Warthog stick and X52 Prto throttle
I do have a Warthog throttle, but prefer the X52’s rotaries.
-
just upgraded to Warthog with virpil warbrd base, but not only that is not working, but even the Throttle doesn’t work anymore. I guess I need to wait for other sims to catch up with what this one have for years now.

I had to remap the stick since it shows up differently to the game with the warbrd base, but once that was set up it has been working perfectly in Falcon and DCS. What specifically is the issue? Is your throttle not showing up as a game controller in falcon?
