X55 keyfile -BMS -Full DX Programmed

I’m still using your outstanding profile Snelle but it started me dipping my toes into DX programming. I still haven’t found anything useful to use the throttle slider for, but did find a way to use the Mode switch to emulate the 3 position Master Arm switch (Mode 1 = Arm, Mode 2 = Safe, Mode 3 = Sim). Clicking the switch into position is very satisfying. To make it work you have to choose “Clear” in the Rhino profile menu to make sure Mad Catz Default isn’t selected as a profile. These are the callbacks you need:
SimSafeMasterArm 15 8 -2 0 0x0 -1
SimSimMasterArm 16 8 -2 0 0x0 -1
SimArmMasterArm 63 8 -2 0 0x0 -1I’m a bit confused because I though the button ID for SimArmMasterArm, which is Mode 1 on the throttle, would be 14, but this is what I found in the keyfile after editing it in the UI and testing it.
I’ve made a few other changes too: Rotary 4 controls HMD brightness rather than yaw trim (I flew several missions with my ship trimmed right accidentally). Shift-toggle 1 up activates HMD. I moved speedbrake to forward / aft throttle hat 3 and removed the CWS bindings from that hat to more closely emulate the real jet. I made throttle H “Look Closer” toggle and Throttle I is “Wheel Brakes” I lost an airframe after accidentally slightly extending my brakes while taxiing. It is also impossible to use the VHF/UHF radio while the brakes are engaged in the default profile, making it hard to coordinate multiplayer takeoffs. I’d be happy to share my full .key if you’re interested.

Thanks for sharing Rabbit!
It is a good thing to be able to adapt to your own preferences as you feel or need to.
Taking out the Yaw trim will make your jet hard to control and even make you crash to some day in future when damaged, and I’m pretty sure that will happen. Put trims on your Checklist PTO?
There is no DX for the slider, hence the pr0/SST for the AB toggle.
The mode switch: I will consider using it as simulation of one of the turn knobs, which it is.
For the rest I’m pretty much satisfied with the overall layout of my profile given the possibilities and limitations of the X-55/56.
If you feel to step up consider a Cougar with feetrudder etc., the drawback and my guess is that you will miss a lot of switches for which you like the X55.Cheers.

Hello Snelle.
Your keyfile is very well organized and structured. And more importantly it is easy to personalize even for newbies like me who never did DX shifting.
So thumbs up! -
Thank you so much! great keyfile and saved me so much time.
btw, I have a problem with the throttle wheel, it will sometimes switch modes without me touching it, and whenever I want to switch to MRM it will take me a few tries.
got any ideas of how can I fix it? -
make sure that it is a hardware failure. I suggest going to device manager and to the properties of the throttle where you can see 30/31 lighting up when pressed, in your case it will light up without pressing. It is a very sensitive wheel and I touch it to sometimes unintended, so double check.
For a temp solution you could alter the keyfile and take out the function for this wheel so you’r not disturbed by unintended mode switches.
Good luck. -
Hi Snelle,
i guess you´re working on 4.34 profile?
Is´nt it so ? -
oh dear, 4.34 is out?
well you guessed wrong here:)But I guess the 433 profile will just do fine.
Will check asap, most likely within 3-4 weeks -
Good morning, Snelle.
I’m still using your awesome profile for my X-56, working so well in what? Almost two years since I installed it thanks yo you?
That’s it.
So I can’t await to learn more from you since the 4.34 has been released, hoping there is no major change.
Otherwise, I’m sure since now you will do your best to give us a nice ‘tool’ once more.
Take your time, best never came out quick and easy of course, as we know. With best regards.

A quick compare of my 433u3a keyfile with the provided in BMS 434 show some new implemented functions: Visor Toggle, Toggle Pilot Model, AUX/IFF, and some which are F18 related.
No functions related to my keyfile 433u3a were changed in the new BMS 434 BASIC keyfile, so is is fully complient with 434. Untested as I speak.
For this moment no changes. -
Hello Snelle,
I have just bought x56 and your key settings are great. But that mouse micro stick setting seems does not work properly with x56(by the way OS: Windows 7 and Falcon 4.33). You mentioned that in your document it was only for x55 but I wanted give a try.
I have a silly question for you. What I am going to do with that pr0 file? Sorry, I did not manage to work that slide button with the brake toggle(b shortcut).
I will also try your settings with 4.34 and I will let you know the result. Thanks for the work you did here.

If the mouse/microswitch is functional within device setting of windows you should be able to select it as an axle within advanced BMS controller setup.
X-56 users do not need to use the reg files, and if you did I would advise to reverse these settings.
pr0 is a brake toggle, in/out. Install the Rhino software and activate it for its functionality.
The slider is the most logical key for the airbrake, but the limitation of the slider is that it is a single Direct X key, leaving no other options then to give it some (airbrake) functionality within HUD software.
This you can verify with opening MS Word, or some sticktest program, then moving the slider to the right or left once, then the result should be a single ‘b’.
I hope this sorts it out for you. Good luck. -

But about the slider I am sure if I did correct: When I slide the slider to the upper position brakes are open, but when I try to close it I have to slide down and slide up again. I think it supposed to be only one movement(slide down to close the brakes). Is this normal or am I wrong?
-
left or right, both should produce a toggle ‘b’. test it in HUD software, makes a difference compared to msword.

I figured it out Snelle, thank you so much.
For everyone else, Snelle’s settings also work for 4.34, no problem at all.

Well, 4.33 profile worked for me, though I’m not using shifted functions and reconfigured keys for my own preferences. Mouse cursors, etc. works just fine.
But I must say - did I understand correctly that by “Shift” you mean “pinkyshift”? And if yes, should pressing “shifted” button work in control setup UI? -
The shifted (i.e pinky) functions only work in cockpit and not in UI. Do not save keyfile in UI.

Is there an update for this to 4.34.2 that was released in December?
Some of this works but other things don’t. For example, Idle Detent on SW2 of the throttle does nothing. I’m brand new to this mod, having it a couple of days, and I really don’t understand how to edit the keyfile myself as it’s very confusing.

What makes you think that things don’t work? I assume you were referring to trigger detent, and not idle detent ? What else is not functioning and how did you came to that conclusion ?
Keyfile editing … if you really want to go your way try learning to master the included keyfile editor in BMS. -

Keyfile editing … if you really want to go your way try learning to master the included keyfile editor in BMS.Well, I can not get any of the pinky shift commands to work. That’s the main issue I’m having.
I (try) to fly exclusively in cockpit mode and the post above mine says that’s the only place it works but it still doesn’t register.
Wheel brakes, Laser Arm On/Off, etc just don’t do anything.
So, I went to the Alternative launcher and redid everything after a few days. Set all keys as the same as the Map Legend.png file and pinky switch still doesn’t work. While it says it’s bound to “DX6 :Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick / STICK: Pinky Switch” it still won’t do anything in game. Even though I have wheelbrakes, for example, set to “DX5 SHFT”.

check DeviceSorting.txt in config folder for device order. what’s the content?
edit: also verify correct usage of the pinky shift command syntax: press the pinky button, press/release desired command, release pinky button……
