Weapon Delivery Planner released
-
The database included with WDP does a couple of things.
First it adds the theater and airports so they will show up in WDP.
It also includes the airport data like tacan and UHF/VHF frequencies. But it also includes more data for the airports like transition level and links to charts. This database in complete as you can run WDP as a stand alone on a PC which does not have BMS installed.
If it is on the PC where you have BMS installed, WDP will do a little more.
Instead of using its database for the frequencies, tacan, and ils etc, WDP will read the stations+ils file and takes these values from this file.
This makes way more sense as this is what will be used in BMS itself. And so you will see in WDP what you see in BMS.If a tacan range is set to zero, this tacan is not working in BMS. Usually this tacan is than set to “1Y” (not everybody uses this rule)
In case you run WDP from a stand alone PC or the stations+ils can’t be read correctly, WDP will show you the database values.
Check if the Aviano tacan range is zero.
If you run WDP from your PC with BMS is installed, check the stations+ils file and see if the range is zero.
This is done the easiest with MC, just load any mission and go to the stations+ils tab.Gr Falcas
Hi Falcas,
Thanks for your reply. I checked the stations+ils file and Aviano is indeed listed as a Y-channel tacan with range 0.
Aside from that, there is also an ‘Aviano TACAN’ entry, with a working X-band channel. Any ideas why the theatre designer would opt for having two database entries for an airport? Or is that something I should ask in the respective thread?Nicolas

If a tacan is located far outside the airport, let say more than a mile, this option can be used.
A separate tacan objective can be placed anywhere.
But I don’t think this is the case at Aviano. You can imagine WDP can’t just track what other tacan objective belongs to the airport.

Well after I wrote this I thought… what a BS this is…
Implemented in the next release.
In case there is no working TCN (range zero) on the airport itself, WDP will search for a TCN within 6nm of the airport.
If found it will show this with an added “*” to mark that its not located on the airport.Gr Falcas

Found what the tanker radio frequency problem was. When you switch to a different tanker in the list, the frequency on the line remains unchanged, simply. I used that to allocate 2 tankers to 4 different flights, which caused a bit of confusion. To that, you add the ATO list “bug” displaying 291.75 for 291.075 (reported), you make some memories
Thanks for your attention, I thought you may want this probably unexpected behavior to be pointed.

Yep, found some issues for the selected tanker and its UHF.
Thanks for the heads up. Building a new package an will release a new version today.Gr Falcas

How do I load a campaign mission into WDP?
-
File, Open Mission, Save-Day 2 10 35 59.cam, Open
ROK+, Package 2105 BAI+, TARCAP GAMBLE 2
NoExample of course
-
Little request (I think?): generation of 8019.dds file in flight folder as well, not just KoreaObj.
-
Frederf: I save the DTC with the UI opened beside and say yes to DTC loaded, for every flight of the package.

Frederf: I save the DTC with the UI opened beside and say yes to DTC loaded, for every flight of the package.
I do this as well, less issues with syncing the data between the DTC and WDP. I then do a save DTC in WDP and then a load in the UI. may not all be required but it works 100% of the time doing this and reduces human error.

say yes to DTC loaded, for every flight of the package.
This is only needed if you have created precision STPTs for this flight.
If not, just say no.Gr Falcas

Yes, easy one to do and makes sense.
Its implemented in the next release. However, you will not get the screen to select what you want on the DDS.
It will always be the left and right datacard.Gr Falcas

My apologies for this dumb newbie question, but do you guys somehow use this on a tablet or something? I have this installed on my computer, and it will run fine on the computer, but if you are flying, of course you want this data on hand, and not have to alt tab from the game to this program. Of course, if this was installed in a tablet, it won’t have access to Falcon BMS program on my computer to get the data it needs.
So how do you veterans use this?

Now, with the 3D pilot model.

Now, with the 3D pilot model.
Do you mean that the weapon delivery planner appears in game on the pilots knee board so that there is no need for a real life knee board and tablet?

Yes, look for the “Save Kneeboard” button
But you can also have everything nicely sorted on your tablet.
In WDP go to settings and use the A5 size.
When you are done, save the datacard (nope, I don’t mean the DTC in this case)
All pages of all the datacards, maps and airbase charts are saved in good location on your PC.On your tablet you can have an APP to access this directory via a network. As all datacards are saved as a jpg you view them on any tablet.
