How to get comms thru headphones and other sound thru speakers
-
Im looking to setup 434 so that the comms sounds come through the headphones and and Awacs and other sounds come through speakers. It is too much to try and speak with wingman and the have AWACS walk over you and not copy transmission. Thank you in advance for any help

You won’t be able to separate AWACS voice calls from other AI voice comms.

Depends on whether or not he’s talkiing about SP or MP. When I play multi-player, my intra-flight comms come to my headphones while AWACS and other sounds come through my speakers, which is what he appears to be trying to accomplish.
Mig, if you are talking about MP, it can be done. When you start the IVC client SERVER, designate your headphones audio source in the Sound Devices –> Playback drop-down text box. Then, during flight, your fellow pilots’ comms will come through your headphones while everything else comes through your external speakers.

Fair point, I forgot about the MP scenario.

I have mine set up this way but I can only reference Windows 7 on setting it up. I have my speakers set as the default sound device and my headset set as the default communications device. It also probably helps that I have an add in Sound Blaster as well as the sound built into the motherboard. I use the Sound Blaster for the default sim sounds thus the speakers are connected to the Sound Blaster and the motherboard sound as the default communications thus the headset is hooked into the front panel headphone jack which is hooked into the motherboard.
