TrackIR possible enhancements in BMS?
-
Good morning, Gentlemen.
I was recently wondering if TIR enhancements in BMS were possible, so I posted a question in a NaturalPoint forums’ thread, and this is the link to it: https://forums.naturalpoint.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&p=69304#p69304
But perhaps I didn’t as well as I thought in first instance… I’m addressing to our devs. here: would this enhancement be really suitable and applicable in BMS?Thanks in advance, with best regards.

I’m writing these lines for the sake of fairness and completeness towards you all.
That developer I had addressed to on the NaturalPoint forum never reappeared to respond to my request … yet it didn’t seem to me that I had asked for anything strange or inappropriate.
Maybe it’s my fault, sometimes, I think that everywhere there is availability that is here with us. Worse for him, and that’s for sure.
Case closed. Bah.
But I’m tempted to share with you all that stuff I downloaded to try some test, but with no success until now… who knows if any of you can find something useful in it. So, if interested, please let me know. With best regards.

_Hello Jackal,
Dear friend, unfortunately NaturalPoint, does not find competition, in the Simulation market, it acts practically alone.
Launched a product, and is not interested in developing it, what she does again and again is to upgrade drives, nothing more.
She develops products for people with disabilities, maybe that’s her market bet. If she had a strong competitor, it would be different.
Best Regards !!malpaso_

I give up with headtrack using arduino, the future is VR helmet when its price will decrease.

Try it, OpenTrack!

True, mate, but at one ‘little’ ( ) condition only to be satisfied in advance: having been assured you can manage all the cockpit tasks (pushing/pulling buttons and leverages too, I mean) when still in VR.
This has already been discussed in deep before in this Forum, though. With best regards.

Well, it’s “Less chatting, more acting” time again

Here is that TIR mod I was referring above.
I’m sharing it hoping that someone could find find the way to implement it in some useful way for TIR Falcon use.In case, please don’t forget to give its creator the due credit. And to let us know, of course!
With best regards to all.

Agree, true also this one - which I don’t believe may ever happen, to be honest.
With best regards.

A MPU9250 must be calibrated correctly and now i’m not able to do this now (limit of my programming knowlegment), i’m giving up temporary for now. It is too inaccurate when i only pitch it yaw too, this is inadmmisible in any sim and specially in a combat sim:-?

Finally i have my headtrack with arduino and a MPU9250 working with opentrack and the hatire plugin.
More info here

I alsways had an eye on building an MPU9250 based headtracker as well. But as it’s only 3DOF I’ll stay with my 6DOF IR Tracking

It is true but the hatire data structure is made of 6 values [x, y, z, roll, yaw, pitch] i added only last 3 of them. So i think it is possibile to pass displacements like
x=ax*t^2 where “ax” is acceleration along x and “t” is the time. Simple or not is an idea to work on it8-) -
5 DOF inertial tracker, USB or Bluetooth or WI-FI versions. GY-85, GY-91, GY-521, GY-521+GY-271, GY-521+GY-273 modules: https://sites.google.com/site/diyheadtracking/home

Interesting site, except for the language, i need to translate it. Anyway, the calibration sw is for only windows platform, second it uses the espressif wifi module esp8266 i prefer a classic usb cable. i’ll take a look

The esp8266 is only one possible Version you can eitehr extend with esp8266 for Wifi, HC-05 or 06 for bluetooth or stay with usb
